Part 43

  Jess's P.O.V.

Trigon sent the team and I flying through the sky, all the way to place it happen, where we lost Raven.
"Out of all the places to crash and land, why'd it have to be here?" BeastBoy said rubbing his head and wipping his eyes
"Please i wish to leave" Starfire said
"We can't, theres no where to go, I mean look around the entire cities gone. the whole world is gone, Ravens gone, I should have stopped her." I said throwing rocks at the nearby wall angirly, "How could i be so stupid" I mutter
"Calm down nobody can help the world if we don't keep a cool head" Cyborg said trying his best to keep calm
"I know what i saw, but it just doesn't feel like Ravens really gone" Robin said looking at the destroyed Hand where the ceremony toke place
"Thats because she isn't" Said the sly cunning voice we all knew too well

As if my day wasn't bad enough, Slade creeped out of the shadows, not a single scratch on him, well until now.
"Slade" Robin muttered irradiated
"What do you know about my sister!" I said lunging towards Slade fists ready, "don't play games with me slade" I said creating specialty sharp icicles just for Slade
"now now, you wouldn't want to do that, Robin you really should control your teammates better, I'm not here to fight, I'm here to help" Slade said jumping up avoiding my attack
"We don't need you help!" BeastBoy said
"Yes you certainly do seem to have everything under control, Raven can still be saved" Slade said dusting himself off
"You know nothing! you were just a pawn in Trigons Game, so was Raven don't give me false information Slade" I said pinning him against a wall
"This isn't false, sinister as I am, what Trigon did I wouldn't wish on the world" Slade said
"Too late for apologies" Cyborg said readying his Cannon
"You misunderstand my generosity for regret, I regret nothing I'm only here because it suits me at this point" Slade said
"Give me one reason why i shouldn't just crack you head against this wall" I said
"Jess! Stop" Robin said putting his hand on my shoulder
"yes its true Raven became the portal, that part of her existence is complete but another still remains for the time being" Slade said cooly
"And how do we find this other existence" I said through clenched teeth still not losing my grip on slades throat
"theres not we, this is a journey only two of you will take, I don't have the patient for all of you" Slade said moving my hand away
"Fine. I'll go, try anything and-"
"And you'll what save raven without my information" Slade said cutting me off, "thought so"
"Jess and I will go, you three stay here" Robin said
"No way man, shes out friend too" BeastBoy said
"I know BeastBoy but Trigon is All Seeing, somebody needs to distract him while we go find Raven" I said hugging him, "Stay safe, i promise i'll bring Raven back"
"take this, its the Ring of Azar I know from expierce that it works with this you may be able to stay alive" Slade said
"We'll keep his busy" Cyborg said
"Robin, Casacade" Slade said ushering us to follow him

Slade lead us down a very deep very spiraly path down near the center of the earth, the closer i came to the gate ahead the more pain I felt, My body was stinging my eyesight was getting blurry and my head feel foggy, but i have to push through for Raven
"Before we go in, a warning, if we succeed, i can't guarantee you'll like what you'll find" Slade said
"I'll take my chances' Robin said
"I would be a bit more worried about you compaion here, the extreme heat could cause her to have a little...mishap, she's already looking ill"
"I can handle myself" I said before Robin could turn around and scan for signs of sickness, "Open the gate" I said signaling to Slade

When we opened the door, there was no more stone everything was lava from here on. I know whats going to happen to me, I read about it in my own prophecy on a trip I toke alone to Azarth without Raven knowing, This is my own desitny. To save Raven I have to sacrifice my own life. I can detect here lead Robin to her and make sure he gets out with her, but the heat will kill me before i can get out.

As the trip went on the three of us spent most of it in silence, a few cunning remarks from Slade and a few worried glances from Robin to me but mostly we were getting closer and closer, I could feel it. as the boat ride came to an end and the fire demons were destroyed, Robin demanded answers, and Slade confessed how he got his powers, apparently after Tera threw him into the lava he as supposed to be dead, but Trigon was watching him and rencarnated him so he could serve him, in return he could give Slade his body back. Idiot never make a deal with the devil
When we got closer and closer Raven, Slade took a fall down a broken pathway, Robin being a good guy made us go after him to make sure he was okay.
"You must be overjoyed to see me this way so weak, vunerable" Slade said
"Yeah accually" I said
"were here to save Raven not pity you" Robin said putting his hand over my mouth
"Sad to see that you don't know whats to come, savor these moments Robin you never know when something special will be taken away from you" Slade said looking me right in the eye
"I don't need your life lessons" Robin said taking his hand off my mouth
"I'm afraid this is where we go our sepearate ways, you'll find Raven on that pathway, my prize lies beyond that door" Slade said turning his back
"thats it? no double cross no cryptic threat?" Robin said surpised
"how about a little gratitude" Slade said peering over his shoulder
"This doesn't change anything, If I ever see you again"
"I wouldn't want it any other way" Slade said leaving
"I just don't get his angle" Robin said to me walking down the pathway to Raven
"Hes trying to save his own skin" I said shrugging my shoulders, "Robin can I tell you something?"
"you know you can" He said
"Ok well-"
"Save it" He said pointing at the fire demons that just emerged from the ground, "You guys again?" He said pulling a sword out his utility belt
"Uh, since when can you fit a collapsible sword in your belt?" I said punching throw a few
"this things full of surprises" he said slicing up a bunch
"But back to what i wanted to tell you...Robin, I'm not coming back after this" I blurted out
"what are you talking about?" he asked
"a few days before Raven became the portal, i took a trip to Azarth or whats left of it...I read a scoll, and it turns out it was my prophecy, and I'm supposed to give my life to save Ravens" I stated looking down, a few seconds passed, with my bracing myself to hear Robin yell at me for being stupid, or for me to break down crying
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked with his eyes shut beneath his mask
"I-I knew you wouldn't let me help" I said, "Ravens this way, i can feel it" I said taking his arm
"Just give me a second, what is with these prophecies deciding everything for you! what happens is your choice! Did your prophecy tell you, you were going to meet me? Did you prophecy tell you that you would be the first girl i ever loved? the prophecy is a bunch of bullshit." Robin yelled, I was at a loss for words, "If this prophecy didn't say that we would date then are we I mean if its not prophesied then its not true right?" He yelled being irrational and sarcastic
"That makes no sense! Do you think i would want to die? To leave you and the team? To not see what becomes out of this nine month long realtionship? No I don't want to Die so if you could please not spend this time yelling at me ok?" I screamed back angry and upset

Robins lips crashed on to mine, hard and powerful, as his hands tugged at my hair angirly but also sadly, knowing that this could possibly be our last kiss. I felt tears run down my cheeks that were mine but also Robins, we don't want to lose each other. Suddenly we heard a bump and flash of a white cloak. Its Raven, its bittersweet really, we find me sister, but I might die
"R" Robin started then cleared his throat, "Raven?" He said stronger still holding me
"is that you?" I asked pulling away the white cloak to revel and maybe 6 year old version of Raven looking terrified
"W-Who are you?" She asked shaking
