Amalia

We were so close to kissing. Yugo had grown much since I'd last seen him. He's even an couple inches taller than me! I haven't seen him in what feels like ages...!

A familiar voice calls my name from a distance, startling me. I turn my head only to see my father standing there at the stairwell. "Well, this is new! Amalia, why didn't I get word of his visit?" He asks, visibly shocked at the scene of Yugo embracing me.

"Heyyyy daddy! Um..." Not-so-secretly, I try to dismiss the fact that we almost kissed in front of him. I could feel my ears burning.
"Yugo will be staying here for a while!" I finish now facing him and out of Yugo's arms. I couldn't help but notice how lonely I felt once I left his grasp.
"Oh, I see... May I ask why?" The way he asks makes me want to disappear into a hole- he seems suspicious after seeing us two.
"King Oakheart, I'd like to stay here because my council believes it is best for me to get some rest. I have been feeling a bit off and so decided to spend some time catching up with my friends. " I'm taken aback by how gentle Yugo's voice is. I can't believe hadn't noticed how much his voice has matured until now. It's surprisingly warm and welcoming.

"Well then!" My father chuckles heartily. "Why didn't you just say so? Come, let me get you a room." He announced, gesturing down towards the nearby hallway. I could see Yugo was unusually nervous to go with him. It wasn't too long before I found out why.
