selfish or selfless??

there's this thing dodie said in the last video on doddlevloggle

she said that she couldn't ever be happy until everyone around her was happy

which is what makes her help people and try to make them happy

and she was thinking about whether that's selfless or selfish because she's also doing that to make herself happy

that's something i've been thinking about a lot

i try my best to be helpful and nice most of the time

because i like helping out ig but it's also kinda because it makes me feel validated and like im worth something

idk

people always say i didn't have to do that or thank me a million times but i don't know if it's just me being selfish and helping because it makes me feel better about myself
