Why me? Why with her?

Chapter 12

I woke up, someone hugging me from behind. I looked over my shoulder a little and saw Jess spooning me, I started to blush, and turned back over and cuddled closer to her.

She woke up a few minutes later.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

She kissed my cheek then got up and went to the restroom. I stretched after a while of laying there and went down stairs. I smelled something really good, i felt like o was flying towards it like in the cartoons.

"Is eggs and bacon ok for breakfast?"

"Yep, I love eggs and bacon."

"You can have a seat if you want."

I took a seat at the island, and started looking at Jess. She must have realized because she turned around and smiled at me, I smiled back, then I looked at her cheek and saw the fresh bandage. I felt like I wanted to cry.

I felt arms wrap around me and pull me into a tight, warm hug.

"Like I said, it's not your fault. So don't feel bad."

I grabbed onto the back of her shirt, holding back tears.

"But still, you got hurt for me."

I felt Jess grab my chin and lift me head. Before I could say anything our lips were together and my heart was pounding.

"Your safe and that's all that matters."

I couldn't think of what to say so I just hugged her.

*Time skip*

I flopped on the couch and stretched out.

"That was delicious!"

"Thanks"

After Jess finished cleaning the dishes she came over and sat down beside me. I sat up straight and looked at Jess. She looked at me, her face turning a little red. 

I jumped on Jess and kissed her cheek.

"I love you."

She leaned towards me and kissed me on the lips.

"I love you too."

*Time skip*

We were bored and decided to watch a movie. I was leaned against Jess and her arm was around me, I felt safe for the first time in a while.

I guess I ended up falling asleep because I woke up and the TV was off and jess was also asleep. I smiled, blushing a little, and snuggled more into Jess then fell asleep again.

*Time skip*

I had been living with Jess for about a week now, it was Wednesday and I was way to happy for the weekend. I talked to my mom and sister a little and had no contact with my dad, which I was happy about.

I skipped up to the front door and smiled, dorkily, at Jess. She walked up and started unlocking the door. 

"Why are you so happy?"

"Because, it's only 2 more days until our 1 week anniversary of living together."

She opened the door and walked in.

"Aw, you're counting down the days?"

"Of course I am. You're my girlfriend and I love living with you."

She leaned over and kissed my cheek, making me blush.

"I love living with you too, and I love you also."

I sat down and started doing my homework while Jess cooked dinner.

*Time skip*

After we ate I flopped on the couch, stuffed to the brim, while Jess did her homework.

Once Jess finished her homework she stood up and kissed my forehead, causing me to blush.

"I'm going to get in the shower."

"Oh, I should too."

"Are you saying you'll join me?"

I froze and started blushing.

"I...um...s-sure."

"You don't have to if you don't want to."

"Oh, no it's ok."

We got in the shower, and Jess made sure not to look at me, which I was thankful for.

"Want me to wash your back?"

"Yes, please, I always have trouble doing it."

I stood there for a second before Jess started washing my back. The cloth was really soft and the body wash smelled good, like an ocean breeze. The feeling that made me hold my breath and blush like a mad house was Jess's.

She was tracing my spine then my sides, making sure not to touch anywhere bad. My heart felt like it would burst out of my chest at any moment, when the tracing stopped.

"Sorry, I got a little distracted."

"Oh, no it's ok. I kinda liked it." I thought the last part in my head.

*Time skip*

We went to bed a little while later. Jess was laying down, sleeping, while I was wide awake, looking at her. after a little I started to get tired and snuggled closer to Jess. She wrapped her arm around me and grabbed my hand. 

I blushed a little and intertwined our fingers then snuggled closer to her.

*Time skip*

It was finally Friday.

"Hey, for our 'anniversary' want to go to the café?"

I smiled and linked arms with Jess.

"That would be wonderful."

We walked down to the café and took our seats, in the same booth as the other times. The waiter came and took our orders, we ordered the same things as last time.

I laid my hands on the table and drifted off into space. I was snapped out of it when I felt a hand intertwine with mine. I looked up at Jess, and blushed.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

She blushed a little, making me blush even more.

The waiter came a few minutes later with our drinks. We drank them, looking at each other, still holding hands.

"Ready?"

"Yep."

We paid for the drinks and started walking back to the house.

"Hey, Jess?"

"Hm?"

"You won't leave me, right?"

"What?! Of course not!"

"Promise?"

"Yes, of course I promise."

"Ok, thanks."

I felt her arm wrap around my shoulder and pull me into her side.

"You're welcome."

We continued walking back to the house in, comfortable, silence. I could see where the roads meet, and I couldn't help but look back to my house, wondering if Alex and mom were ok.

We got to the corner and I had to look away from my house, I knew I couldn't go back, I was safe with Jess or so I thought until...

"Hello, Little dykes!"
