"Alice. You need to come back with me. We have to back to the academy."
I took a step back as he neared.
"No. I... I can't. I need to go home. To my true home. To my best friend, Sam, who's dying. Or-or-or with... I just need to go." I whispered. "My mother is dead. I can't let Sam die too. You don't understand."
Dimitri took another step toward me, but I didn't move.
"Fine. I'll go with you."
"What?" I was confused.
"I'll go with you. I have enough money. But what do you plan to do after?"
I thought for a moment. "I'm going to Baia after this."
"I'm going with then. You can meet my family."
I nodded, and we took a seat as the train began to leave the station.
"Oh, and Alice? Happy Birthday."
I smiled and fell asleep, his arms wrapped around mine.
