I had fallen asleep, when Dimitri was whispering to me softly.

"Alice... wake up. We're here."

Groggy, I opened my eyes slightly, where Dimitri stood in the aisle, looking at me.

I stood, and followed him out, into the airport, with Russian signs everywhere, advertising. 

A young girl ran up to Dimitri, and threw her arms around him. 

"Dimka!" she cried. 

He hugged her back. "Where's the rest of the family?" He asked in Russian.

An older woman came over, along with an elderly woman. 

"Mother, this is Alice, my..."

"Girlfriend?!" The young girl still had her arms around Dimitri.

"Yeah. My girlfriend."

I smiled and took Dimitri's hand, and his mother - i assumed- hugged me and spoke in broken English.

"You do speak Russian, right?"

I smiled kindly, and answered in Russian. "Yes, I do. That will make communicating much easier."

We both laughed, then Dimitri made introductions.

"Alice, this is my mother, Olena, my sister, Viktoria, and my grandmother, Yeva." I hugged all three women, and we all got into her car.
