so beautiful
an hour into our train ride
i feel jeongguk's head leaning on my shoulder
i glance to my side, seeing his eyes closed
and lips parted slightly
sleeping soundly as if
he had no trouble with the world
why does he look so beautiful?
i pull up the mask that is under his chin
just in case someone spots us together
then i lean my head back against the seat as well
i shut my eyes as i think of just
how miserable my life really is
freedom is such a hassle
it shouldn't ever be
after having enough of putting myself down
i pull out the poetry book jeongguk gave me
and flip it open
i read softly
"i used to think i was broken
because i never once spent my daydreams
plucking swollen pomegranates
from someone else's tree"
i pause when i feel jeongguk
shifting his head on my shoulder
"then i learned that society is broken
not me"
"mhm"
i jolt at jeongguk's low hum
he lifts his head and tosses me
a sleepy eyesmile
and i'll be damned
it makes him even more beautiful
"you're not tired?"
he asks with a yawn
i shake my head
lifting up the book in my hands
to show him that i was reading
"is it good?"
he asks, closing his eyes again
he still hasn't moved his head
from my shoulder for some reason
it makes my heart flip a little inside
but i can't be sure if it's fluttering
or rather jumping in nervousness at how close he is
no boy has ever tried to get this close to me
"it's good" i reply after awhile
turning back to my book as i feel my cheeks heat up
he lets out the cutest chuckle
"keep reading to me
for some reason i have good dreams
when you speak to me"
"are you saying that because you mean it
or because you're only half awake"
i raise an eyebrow at him, earning another chuckle
"both"
he whispers softly
breaths soft and relaxed
"so go on, please?"
i smile
reaching out to brush away
a messy fringe that falls on his face
"you're such a child"
"i know
now shut up and start reading"
