jeongguk grabs a candy bar
shoves it into his bag, tosses me a

with eyebrows raised
and i reach for the first thing i deem
worthy enough
to land me in a lock-up
a giant packet of LAYS
"why did i even put that on my list?"
i groan as we run down the road
out of the minimart
ducking our heads under our hoods
"what if someone checks the
CCTV cameras and catches us?"
jeongguk shrugs
unfazed in any way as if he hadn't
just broken the law

i bet he used to break it everyday
when he was active in his industry

"relax, exactly why i told you to

he says as he pulls out a chocolate bar
from his backpack and starts chomping down on it hungrily

before driving out of the parking space

daegu is colourful and lively

i shift uncomfortably in my seat
immediately recalling that i had
written it on my list
"we're going to be breaking another law aren't we?
we're both not legal yet"
which reminds me, we don't even have
proper driving licenses
and we're driving a stolen car

jeongguk lets out a squeaky laugh
and tilts his head to the side
"let's get your #11 done"

i sigh in defeat and he reaches out to mess my hair
my heart stops for a split second
before resuming it's rapid beating
which is something that happens a lot these days

"fine
but how are we going to get in?"
i point at the crowd in front of us
at this point we won't be able to get in until midnight
jeongguk seems to have an idea
he always does anyway

he's more of the intellectual between us
