Innocence

"So where are we going" she asked him "we're almost there".

The  whole car ride he kept one hand on the steering wheel and the other one  rested on her lap as she played with his fingers with hers.

He  saw the way her face lightened up when she noticed the carnival when he  pulled into the parking lot "how'd you know I wanted to come here?!"

He  chuckled "I read minds remember" she rolled her eyes playfully as he  brought her hand up to his lips and kissed the top of it "ready for some  fun Ms. Gomez?"

Giggling she nodded; he leaned in giving her a quick peck and got out hurrying to the other side to open the car door for her.

They  intertwined their fingers together and they began walking along "so  what do you want to do first? your wish is my command" she shook her  head and his sweetness yet slightly dorky ways towards her "hmm. ." she  began looking around.

"I want one of those" she pointed to the  big cooper color stuff bear hanging from the side of the baseball toss  booth "I can get you that" they walked up to it Nick handed the guy a  five dollar bill "if you win it for me I'll repay you with a kiss" .

He  tried and tried but the damn bottles wouldn't fall, Selena laughing at  his determination the way he would bite his lip and furrow his eyebrows  together every time he would throw the baseball made him look so cute.

Finally they walked away with her carrying the bear "do I get my kiss now?"

"You  paying for the bear, doesn't really count as winning" she teased  looking at him, he scoffed "those damn bottles are glued together, it's  not my fault" he said defensively trying to keep his ego on high, she  made them stop walking "yeah, your right" she agreed smiling and leaned  in giving him a gentle kiss, she was about to pull away but he held her  close intensifying the kiss not rough or anything but just prolonging it  and putting every inch of sweetness into it, making her head spin.

When  he pulled away her eyes still shut, he couldn't help but grin he  brought his hand to her cheek and brushed his thumb on her in, her eyes  slowly opened letting out a breath "before I forget. ." he whispered to  her "you look beautiful today".

Her cheeks turned a shade of  pink, and that's what he loves about her the innocence that she carries  connecting their hands together again, they carried on through the  carnival.

Both feeling like teenagers on their first ever date.

"So when am I going to see you again" Nick bit his lip nervously as his gaze met with Selena's wondering eyes.

Her  quirky laugh put a nervous smile on his face, "gee Nick can't you wait  till the end of the day to ask this" he knew it was a stupid question to  ask but he needed to know, if he could he would plan out every day with  her...even if it meant spending minutes with her beautiful soul.

"I-It's how I feel" he sighed from embarrassment as his eyes focused on the families and couples surrounding them.

Her  laugh quickly faded as she noticed that he was serious, "I'm here with  you now" her hand met with his warm cheek as she kissed his tender lips;  "live in the moment, Nick" she whispered as her forehead met with his,  "life is so much more beautiful that way".

"Nick  that's the fifth time your phone has rang, it's okay to answer it"  Selena said suspiciously while she tried to get a glimpse of who was  calling Nick.

Nick shook his head, "it's no one important"; he  knew by the constant calls from the guys that a job had come up, but in  all honestly he wasn't up for no 'jobs' not when he can spend his time  looking into her deep brown eyes; the risk he was taking right now was  dangerous but at this point he was willing to risk everything just to  gain Selena's trust back, something that he had learned to value.

"Okay"  her eyes shinned brightly as they locked with the fried pickle stand in  front of her, "have you ever tried a fried pickle, Nicholas" the sweet  sound of her giggle ran a warm feeling through his body.

"I have a feeling I'm about to" he smiled as Selena dragged him towards the stand.

The  way she viewed life gave Nick hope, hope that maybe he can get out of  the lifestyle he was so use to and actually make something out of  himself; he was slowly realizing that spending so much time with her was  changing him into the person that was hidden behind the man he grew up  to be. "It's good isn't it" she squealed as Nick nodded trying to hide  the fact that it was the most awful thing he had tasted.

He  smiled as the sound of his phone ringing again caught both their  attention, "let me take this" he mumbled as he noticed the familiar  number; "dad" he swallowed the lump forming in his throat.

"Be  in my office in thirty minutes, bring the idiots with you" he clicked  living a terrified Nick staring blankly towards a world he never knew.
