Jumping off of the edge of the building, you flew as fast as you could towards Jason's location. You could feel his anguish and pain from miles away, his strong emotions made your entire being hurt. Flying past the many buildings of Gotham, you did not stop until you were inside the building Jason was in. The window was a narrow fit, but you were able to squeeze through and see the destroyed bathroom along with a giant hole in the wall. Stepping through it, you froze as soon as you saw Jason holding his killer at gunpoint, Bruce standing a few feet away from him. Tears were streaming down Jason's eyes, his broken mask showing one of his eyes. They were green and blue, nothing like the eyes that were the colors of the sunset you saw in Hell.

"If you won't kill this psychotic piece of filth, I will!" Jason shouted, placing his gun on the side of his killer's head. "If you want to stop me you're gonna have to kill me."

"You know I won't-"

"I'm gonna blow his deranged brains out," Jason interrupted Bruce, "and if you want to stop it, you're gonna have to shoot me right in my face!"

You sucked in a breath, watching them with wide eyes. The rest of the conversation was blurred as you slowly watched Bruce throw a bat-shaped weapon at Jason, embedding it directly into his neck. It nearly drove you insane to see his killer laugh as Jason bled out on the floor. His father, the one who was supposed to care and watch over him had saved his killer rather than Bruce's son. Running over to Jason, still invisible to all three of them, you placed a hand on his throat.

"I'm the one who's gonna get what he wants tonight. Badda bing, badda boom!" Joker shouted, laughing as he aimed Jason's gun at explosives.

"No!" Bruce yelled, watching in horror as he shot the explosives.

Rapidly moving, you shielded Jason from the blast. You pulled him close, using your wings to cover him and yourself. As you watched your surroundings, you saw Bruce get thrown back by the blast, nearly falling out of the building before some rubble fell on top of him. Knowing that he had survived, you pulled Jason closer to you and flew off, leaving Bruce behind.

Placing Jason gently down on the bed, you restrained your tears as you pulled the bat-shaped object out of his throat. Tossing it aside, you sat beside him and placed your hand on his wound, using your Grace to heal the injury. It hurt your very being to see Jason like this, but he had succeeded in his quest for justice. His killer was dead, you sensed his soul being dragged down to the depths of Hell during the explosion. Jason had requested that Joker would have a place reserved for him, and that request was that he was treated no different from the other murderers and soulless monsters that occupied the deepest region of Hell. He wanted Joker to be forgotten, to be treated as if he had done nothing but do what others before him have already accomplished. Now that he has succeeded, his memories would be returned to him.

"You did it," you smiled, using your other hand to cup his face. "Your killer is dead, and soon his soul will be as well. Even in the afterlife he will cease to exist."

You removed your hand from his face, but his hand ushered it back. Watching as his thumb dragged across your hand, he smiled and opened his eyes. They were the eyes that you knew, the colors of the sunset that you fell in love with.

"Jason!" you shouted, your smile growing as you pulled him close.

He let out a grunt, but quickly wrapped his hands around your torso without hesitation, "I missed you too, (Y/N)."

"After so many years, you have finally returned to me," you stated, pulling back, "and you brought your beautiful eyes back with you."

He furrowed his brows, "My eyes?"

You nodded, "The colors of the sunset, remember?"

"Of course I do, but if I have those colors-"

"You have reverted back to your demon form, but in your human body," you finished his sentence, sitting up. "Your wounds are gone, even the ones I did not heal."

"I guess this is a gift from your brother," Jason said, pushing himself up. "Who knew he is a giver."

"He is when he wants to be," you said, your smile fading.

"What is it?" he asked, grasping your hands in his.

"You have ended your quest for justice, and mine has just begun," you stated, looking down. "Before I retrieved you, Gabriel spoke to me, informing me that my father wished to speak with me."

"We'll worry about this at a later time," Jason said, lifting your hand and placing a kiss on it. "Right now, all I want to focus on is you."
