(Friday)

I stare at the two outfits in front of me. For the past hour I have been hunting through my closet for an outfit to wear to my date with Joey. The first outfit was a small, grey dress which I would never usually wear and flats to match. If I were to chose that outfit, then I would probably just curl my hair and leave it down. The next outfit was a lot more comfy but wasn't exactly... Date-ish... There was my plain black shirt that was a little to tight for my liking, a hideous purple short skirt and the same black flats and for this one, I would braid my hair.

I end up deciding one the first outfit. I get changed into it and walk into the bathroom to do my hair and makeup.

There was a knock on the door. "Coming!" I shout as I bolt down the stairs. I grab my purse off the couch and open the door. Joey stood outside, looking perfect as always. He had texted me earlier, asking if I wanted to go see a movie. Of course I said yes. Why wouldn't I? The movie we were going to see was called night sky or something.

We arrive at the movie theater within five minutes. The drive was quiet, awkward. The usual.

We walk into the theater and up to the desk. "can we get two tickets to Night Sky?" Joey asks the man at the counter.  He nods. "want anything with that? Food? Drinks?"He asks. Joey shrugs. "I'll get... A Medium popcorn and a coke thanks" The man grabs the stuff and places them on the counter. "eight dollars, fifty" Joey pays him. Is that all?" He asks. Joey glances at me. "Um... I'll have a packet of strawberry bonbons and a bag of candy floss" I say.

We pay for our things and walk through  door into the theater. It was almost pitch black in here and I couldn't see a thing. "Joey!" Someone shouts over the chatter of the other people in the room. We walk over in the direction. A group of six boys, around our age appear in the corner of the room.

In the end, the date went nothing like I had imagined it to. We ended up sitting with the boys and joey didn't even sit by me, in fact he sat tree seats away while I was positioned in between a guy called Jace who was flirting with me the whole time and a guy called Nick who ignored me the whole time. The movie was boring, the whole thing was basically just these people running away from the half human, half gorilla monster things that were chasing them. Joey was driving me home now.

We pull up in front of my house and as much as I didn't want to get out of the car I forced my legs to step out onto the gravel. I shyly wave. "I'll see you on monday?" I ask.  He nod and sighs. "Bye" Before I can even reply, he is speeding off down the street. I step back a bit.

That was my first date.
