By now, I had stopped crying and had stopped in a small alleyway. I slide down the gritty brick wall onto the glass covered ground. I ignore the stinging pain in my hands as I pull out small shards of shattered glass that I had leaned on.

Every child in the neighborhood was warned not to go into the dark side of town as it was extremely dangerous and had some very bad people hanging around. I had never really been here apart from very rarely passing through with my parents. It was quite dark even though it was only about 1:30pm. It was always dark here.

How could I be so stupid? Of course he didn't like me. Who would like me? What on earth did I do to deserve this? I don't know how long I sat there groveling in my sadness but my thoughts were interrupted by a girl screaming. My eyes shoot open to see three guys surrounding a girl who was pressed against a wall. She whimpered as one of the guys slapped her across the face. I was shocked and scared at the same time, but overall, still sad.

Part of me was screaming to go over and help the girl, another part was screaming to call the police and then there was a small little voice in the back of my mind telling me to just sit and watch. Option two was out considering I didn't have my phone. Option three just wasn't even relatively OK, so that is out as well. that leaves me with the first option: go an help. that option is just completely stupid... Although I cant just sit here and watch.

I get up off the ground and wipe my hands on my shirt. I Walk up to them  and clear my throat loudly. When they didn't turn around or stop I figured they didn't hear me. "Excuse me?" I try again. They still didn't stop. "Oi!" I yell this time, a lot louder. Finally, the guys stop and turn around. They look down at me and laugh before stepping towards me. Of course, I take a step backwards. The girl gives me a sympathetic smile before limping away. I turn to run away but one of the guys grabs my arms and yanks me back. He slams me into the wall ad swings a punch. Before it hits, I duck and kick him where it counts before ducking under his arm and sprinting out . I hear the other two guys chasing me. I was actually faster than I had expected to be. I guess when my life is on the line it changes things.

I don't know how long I had been running for or how far I had run but when I rounded a corner, I stopped in my tracks. In front of me was a man wearing a plain black mask. His eyes were cold and lifeless as he stared at me. He glanced over my shoulder and if it was even possibly, his gaze grew harder. His dark eyes narrowed as he started walking towards me. I didn't even have to turn around to know that the other two guys were there. I had honestly no clue who the guy wearing the mask was. He wasn't the third guy because he had green eyes, this one had almost black.

I pinch my eyes shut as he got closer until he was so close that I could feel his breath on my cheeks. "Get behind me" A deep voice whispers. I open my eyes to see the guy in he mask was standing right in front of me, still looking over my shoulder. I do as told and force my legs to walk forward until I was a few feet behind him. "Get lost" the guy with the mask sneers. The other two laugh and step forward, challenging him. They knives out of their pockets and point them at the guy. The second the masked guy pulls out a gun is when the real fear hits. My blood runs ice cold in my veins. It literally only just dawned on me that I might die today.
