"I just can't believe you took on all of those girls by yourself." Principal Holland said. Lyric sat back in her seat. Supposedly the girls only mentioned Lyric's name so only she could take the blame.

"Ms. Cox is still in the hospital by the way.." Naomi looked at Lyric and shook her head. "They jumped me okay?" Lyric said. Naomi sighed.

"Then why did you leave?" Naomi asked. "Because I knew y'all wouldn't believe me." Lyric shrugged. "Well her family wants to press charges."

Principal Holland said. Naomi frowned. "She jumped my daughter." "Yes but she suffered the most damage-"

"I don't give a fuck, she jumped my baby over a boy! Then get mad because she got her ass beat? Tell they ass to press charges and I'll make it my priority to take all of them down.. including this school if y'all want to suspend her for defending herself."

Lyric smirked a little and Principal Holland sighed. "She won't be suspended and I'll let the parents know." "Thank you." He licked his lips.

"Another thing..I wont put anything on her record if she joins the basketball team." Lyric frowned. "Isn't the season almost over?" Naomi asked.

"Yes but this will get you a full scholarship A'lyric."  Lyric looked at Naomi.

After they agreed that Lyric would start practice after school they walked out of the principals office.

"Hey." Lyric looked at her mother. Naomi sighed. "I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did when I was your age, I would get into fights all the time because of your daddy... I don't want you to do the same over Jr-"

"But I'm not-" "Let me finish!" She looked at Lyric with a stern face and she sighed. "You never fight or trip over no nigga.. do you understand me?" Lyric nodded. "Yes."

"If that bitch feel like she can take  him away from you then he was never yours in the first place."

Lyric nodded. "Yes ma'am." Naomi looked her up and down. "I don't want you to be like me, okay?" Lyric frowned and Naomi kissed the side of her face before she left.

Lyric took a deep breath and walked to her class. She walked through the door and all eyes were on her. "Fuck y'all looking at?" She asked.

Everyone turned away and Lyric took her seat beside O'shea. "Okay um, everyone get your homework out from yesterday." Mrs. Yemen said.

O'shea poked Lyric's side. "You alright?" He whispered. Lyric nodded. "I'm fine." O'shea sighed. "I heard about what happened.. I'm sorry." Lyric nodded.

"Yea." She mumbled. O'shea sat up and pulled his homework out.

Lyric threw her books in her locker then slammed it shut and jumped when she saw O'shea standing there like a creep.

"You're very jumpy today." O'shea tilted his head to the side. Lyric sighed. "You've been avoiding me all day." "I know." "Are you mad or something?" He asked.

Lyric shook her head. "No." "But.. you don't want to talk to me?" He furrowed his eyebrows. "It's not like that." "Then how is it?" He asked leaning against the lockers.

Lyric shrugged. She was acting very childish. "I don't understand you.. when you get mad at me I'm just supposed to take it but when it's the other way around you don't even give a fuck."

Lyric was silent. "I'm not mad at you though." She mumbled while walking away O'shea followed her. "Stop fucking walking away from me!" Lyric groaned.
