"Baby I'm so sorry I forgot." O'shea told Lyric over the phone as Lyric helped Naomi cook for their family barbeque.

"It's fine,im gonna see you today anyway." "True, but I'm taking you out tomorrow night for sure." Lyric smiled and felt someone hit her head.

She looked up and saw none other than her mother. "Call him back so you can help me little girl, this ain't free time." Lyric sighed rubbing her head.

"You heard her?" O'shea chuckled. "Yea,I'll see you later..I love you." Lyric blushed. "I love you more." Naomi raised a brow and watched her hang up.

Lyric looked at her and frowned. "What?" She asked. Naomi shook her head. "How you expect to cook for Jr if you don't know how?" She asked.

Lyric groaned. "I know how to cook Mama." "I'm not talking about sandwiches and cereal." Lyric waved her off.

"O'shea loves my cereal." Naomi shook her head. "I'm just saying baby, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." Lyric sighed.

"What do you want me to do?" She asked. Naomi smiled. "I want you to do the macaroni." Lyric stared at her.

Naomi sighed and grabbed the boxes of macaroni out the cabinet. "The cheese is in the fridge."

Lyric nodded and put her phone in her back pocket while she grabbed the bricks of different types of cheese.

Lyric started boiling the noodles in a huge slave pot Naomi had. "How am I supposed to know then they're down?" Lyric asked.

"When the noodles get soft." Lyric nodded. "Like ramen then." Naomi laughed. "Yes."

"Okay,I got this." Naomi raised a brow because she knew she was gonna have to watch her. She regretted not making her cook when she was younger.

"Y'all aren't arguing again right?" Naomi asked. Lyric shook her head. "No we're good." Naomi nodded.

"That's good, you're going back to school in a while." Naomi reminded her. Lyric sighed. "Yea."

"You ready?" "I guess, um,I forgot to tell you." Naomi looked up at her as she cracked some eggs for the desserts.

"Aunte Kim is letting O'shea live in one if their condos and I was wondering-" "No." Naomi shook her head.

Lyric frowned. "Why not?" She asked. Naomi sighed. "Y'all aren't living together, hell no."

"But why? I don't want to stay in a dorm and share a room." She scrunched her nose up at the thought.

"Y'all are already having sex..I don't want you to slip up and get pregnant."

"We're using protection and I'm not going to,I have a scholarship." "That isn't stopping you from having sex though." Naomi took a cake out and sat it on the island.

"So you want me to stop having sex?" She squinted her eyes at her. "That's not what I meant." "Then what do you mean Mama?" Lyric cocked her head to the side.

"I don't want you to fuck your life up okay? I want you to focus on school and basketball but school first." Lyric frowned.

"You go to that dorm we paid for and that's it.. you don't have to share it with anyone." Lyric leaned against the counter.

Naomi looked at her and raised a brow. "You got something to stay?" She asked. Lyric clenched her teeth. "I'm not a little kid anymore,I'm grown."

Naomi laughed. "You're not grown until you own baby girl, I pay all of your shit and I bought everything you have on do I not?"

"I hate when you do that." Lyric shook her head. "Do what?" Naomi asked placing a hand on her hip.
