King Taeho sat having tea with the Queen, they both shared their thoughts on the upcoming ceremony to which they would announce the union of their son and a concubine. They both had been planning to marry their son off to a woman that would control his mischief ways ever since he became a run-a-muck teenager and now was the perfect time to unfold it.

“Minho will have a hard time accepting this you know.” Queen Eunmee stated, sipping away at the tea in her hand.

“He’s a grown man, and the next heir to the throne. He needs to learn that getting what you want is not something a crown prince can get.” Taeho grumbled, also sipping at his tea before placing it down and frowning. “He has no choice but to do things that he is unwilling to do. Just like me.”

Eunmee sighed and lightly scratched at an itch on her cheek. “The only thing he has similar to you is his temper, other than that he’s nothing like you. I’m afraid he won’t accept out proposition.”

“That temper will fail him one day, that’s why he needs to get married.”

“I’m not sure a marriage will control him anymore, maybe it would have when he was younger but look at him now, he doesn’t even listen to Woojin anymore and that boy used to be able to control Minho’s temperament with just the flick of a finger.” Eunmee muttered as her head shook.

“I do not care what you think. I know what is best and for Minho it is getting married to who I have chosen.” Taeho gritted his teeth, annoyance spreading through his body.

“That has always been your fault Taeho. That’s why your sons having trouble liking you.”

“They don’t like me because they do not see that I am always right, instead they think they know what’s best for themselves.” Taeho says before he managed to stand up. “They don’t.”

“Your majesty.” A voice was heard from outside the room that they sat in.

Taeho looked towards the door. “Come in.”

In came a royal guard pushing the crown prince into the room. “I found this one trying to sneak out.”

“Hey, get off me you imbecile!” Minho growled, struggling to get out of the guards hands. “I also have a name, Minho, CROWN PRINCE MINHO.”

“Shut up.” The guard glared at him, having a tighter grip on the young prince.

“Make me!”

“Thank you.” Taeho glared at the prince. “You can leave now.”

“Gladly.” Minho tried walking out of the room but got pushed back in by the guard.

“Not you!” Taeho hissed and grabbed hold of Minho’s gown collar. “You little shit… How dare you embarrass me, you vile being. Do you not understand that you are a PRINCE? Your actions reflect you as the next king, fool!”

“I don’t want to be a prince, let alone a fucking king.” Minho spat, glaring into his father’s eyes, not caring about the consequences anymore. He was beginning to become sick of getting pushed around and being told who he has to be.

Taeho pushed Minho away slightly before his hand raised and swung, making contact with his son’s right cheek bone which made a deafening crack, filling the silent room. The queen watched on in horror but never said anything, keeping her silence, thinking that she would just make it worse if she suddenly cursed out her husband.

Minho’s eyes welled up with tears from the pain as he held his cheek, a quiet sob escaped his lips as he locked eyes with his mother. “Are you seriously not going to say anything?”

Eunmee avoided eye contact, her heart breaking at the sound of her son’s broken voice but still stayed silent which to Minho was deafening. Too him it was the worst thing his mother could do. Not defend him.

“I HATE YOU!” Minho screamed, his eyes trailing from his mother to his father. “I HATE BOTH OF YOU!”

“Your feelings are invalid Minho.” Taeho said.

“FUCK YOU!” Minho screeched, turning around and moved to walk out of the room, tears streaking his face but soon stopped midway.

Taeho glanced at his wife. “See even yourself know that he needs to be taught a lesson.”

“Do whatever you want Taeho.” Eunmee frowned before she walked out of the room and walked past her son not even glancing at him, leaving the king Taeho and Minho alone.

“I will. Gladly.”

Minho glared at his father, filled with rage. He never asked for the prince life, the prince life chose him and now that he’s met Jisung, he is even more tempted to run away with his lover to some place far away to escape the clutches of his so-called father. “One day you are going to regret ever doing this to me!”

“I never regret anything.” Taeho responded a stern glare set on his face.

“You will! I’ll make you.” Minho challenged. He was determined to prove that to his father.

“How?” Taeho smirked, knowing his son couldn’t do anything to him.

“You’ll see, and when you do, I’ll make your life a living hell.” Minho declared, his eyes wild with hatred before storming out, leaving his father alone.

The king laughed at the preposterous claim that came out of his son’s mouth. “You can try but you won’t succeed.
