Bright lights shine in my face. Hushed voices fill the room. I hear the beeping of a heart monitor. Beep. Beep. Beep.
"What? Where am I?" I croak my voice raw from the lack of use. My brain feels like it is lost in fog. I can't seem to comprehend anything.
Doctors crowed around me. Only there eyes show from behind their masks. They start talking to each other like I'm not even there.
A lady in a mask with dark brown hair in a bun, looms over me with a syringe her glasses reflect the light into my eyes. She checks the amount of fluid. Then she moves toward me.
My breath starts to quick. The monitor starts speeding up. I try to move, but my limbs feel numb. This adds to my fear.
"Where's Sebastian?" I ask, hearing the fear in my voice. I don't know why I asked for him. I barely know him, but after our "adventure" I feel like he's more trustworthy than these crazy doctors.
"Calm down, sweetheart," the male doctor says. His eyes hold no remorse. His voice is deep, but it shows no sympathy.
I seem to regain the feeling in my limbs as I feel a tingling sensation fill my body. I start scrambling around in the hospital bed. I start to flail my arms trying to push the doctors away.
A stabbing pain shoots through my stomach. I look down to see a crimson stain on my hospital gown. I can see the blood pool out of my abdomen. My terror starts to escalate.
Just then I remember the past few days. Getting expelled. Crashing in the abandoned apartment building. Those two creeps. Meeting Sebastian. Getting shot. This makes me panic even more.
"Calm down," they say trying to restrain me, "Just calm down!"
I squirm, trying to break free from their restraint. A scream rips through my throat, and I feel hot tears stream down my face. Every single emotion floods back to me, and I let it out.
"Let me go," I whimper, "Please let me go!"
Then I feel a prick in my neck. I hear the serum ooze into my throat. I feel it enter my system.
Immediately my heartbeat slows, and my breathing evens. I look up for one last glimpse. Sebastian shoves his way through the doctors and the glass doors. Well, at least I think it's him. I'm not sure, my vision is clouded with black spots.
"Sebastian?" I whisper as I fall into unconsciousness.
