Before the alarms go off.

Sebastian wakes to the sound of his door being opened. He sits straight up, his hair in a disheveled mess. A tall, broad figure starts coming towards him. Sebastian leaps from his bed, and starts toward the unknown figure.
Sebastian is immediately struck across the face. He throws a punch in return, but not quick enough. His opponent is faster, slamming Sebastian's head against the wall. Sebastian stumbles back dizzy, blood streaming down his face. He attempts to fight back, but with the world spinning like a top he could barely stand upright. The other guy wastes no time and sends one last blow towards Sebastian's face. He then crumpled towards the ground, as reality fades away.

Sebastian slowly opens his eyes, blinking slowly. The sounding of alarms snapped him out of his dazed state. Instantly he recognized what the alarms meant. An intruder.
The memory of the fight came back to him in a flash. He lifted his hand up to his face to feel blood, some dry and some fresh. His head is throbbing.
Veronica! He then thought about Veronica. The intruder was probably there for her. He pulled himself up from the ground, and dashes towards her room. Even in the dark he knows the way to her room.
He doesn't even pause before ripping the door open. As soon as the door opened he saw the intruder carrying Veronica, not to delicately. The guy immediately throws her on to the bed, causing her to whimper. Anger corses through him like a river. No one hurts her. Last time he was fighting for himself, this time he was fighting for her. He was not going to lose.
Sebastian threw every punch he had, relentless. He wasn't going to lose. He wasn't going to let this psychopath hurt her. He beat the guy senseless until he was sure the guy wouldn't get up. Then he darted towards Veronica.
She laid on the bed looking like she got slapped in the face by death. Her gorgeous eyes filled with pain. He brought his hand to her face, afraid he'd break her.
"You're safe now," he whispers.
Then without warning he's thrown back against the wall with unfathomable strength. Before he can even attempt to get up pain floods him. The nonstop feeling of knives shredding his body consumed him. It went on for what felt like hours. He couldn't move, couldn't breathe, and the only thing he could think was that he failed her. He failed Veronica, and she was going to die to because of him. That was his last thought as he faded into the never ending darkness.
