Another photo of Michael attached on the side. He is so hot, holy shit :')

As my feet swayed in sync with the current in the cool water, I closed my eyes and relaxed waiting for the next set to arrive. The slight breeze blew in the perfect coldness my body was craving, causing the ideal weather my muscles were begging for. It had been a long day and I was finally done and de-stressing in my favourite way; surfing.

Today at work, I never thought I would say this but it was hard. A lot of drama went down for a surf shop. First, a little kid dropped his chocolate ice-cream on a $55 dollar shirt; new stock and one that I just unpacked. The dad refused to pay for the shirt claiming that the kid was ‘only six years old and doesn’t know any better.’

Since it was in my section, I was the one who had to deal with it. After about 10 minutes of non-stop bickering and discussing what would happen, Sally was called into the situation. The man ended up paying for the shirt, but did so very reluctantly cursing out the son and business the whole time under his breath.

Then, for the rest of the day I was moving boxes containing the new stock that had arrived the day before. I had been lugging around the boxes, lifting them and stacking them in order before doing stocktake on them. The only thing that got me through work was Sally’s famous cookies she bought in for us.

After work was finally over, I had my training session with Tanner. The only thing I will say about training is that I had never been so ecstatic when the clock ticked over finishing the hour’s session, Yep, it was that hard.

Don’t forget the stress and nervousness I had been feeling all day for tonight. The event was nagging me in the back of my mind all day. Making me completely unfocused and made me lose concentration a lot. Note to self- when doing stocktake, don’t lose concentration.

The swell wasn’t huge today, it averaged to be just under 3 foot. The waves were perfect to muck around on and a perfect way to let loose after a tiring day at work and the training session that I was contemplating on running into the water and drowning myself half way through.

‘So what’s the plans for tonight?’ Tanner asked me as we patiently waited for the waves, relaxing and enjoying the last hour of the hot sun rays before heading back in because of the dark that would be setting. He to, like me had his eyes closed and was pointing his head up to the sky to catching the last of the warmth.

‘Oh, um nothing much.’ I stuttered. ‘Just, ahh going out with a friend.’ I muttered the last part but all that was going through my mind was Lies!

It was true, I was going out but with a friend? I don’t even know what to classify him as. More of an acquaintance.

That’s right, I was going out with Michael.

On a ‘get to know you’ dinner, which translates to date.

After I had agreed to ‘give us a try’, it had been just under a week (4 days to be precise), when we saw each other again. Michael had talked to me after work on Tuesday and told me on Friday I had to go out with him, and that I wasn’t allowed to decline. To say I’m nervous would be an understatement. I’ve been a nervous wreck since Tuesday, and since today was Friday, my nerves had increasingly grown again.

The thing that had me so nervous about tonight, was that it was just us two. Nobody would be around for ages and who knows what would happen. What if I made him angry or pissed him off? I’m pretty good at that as I’ve discovered from past meeting. It’s no secret that he scares me, he and I both know it.
