Alexa awoke with a yawn and a stretch she realised it was the school dance for riverdale high but for some reason she was excited not because she was attending it or anything but because she loved seeing her friends all dressed up and having fun even though she didn't attend riverdale high she was an exception before she left principle weatherbee had said to her that she would be welcome to go if she wanted to she obviously agreed and had bought a dress and everything. she couldn't wait to see everyone again including reggie which she thought would never happen but most of all she was excited to let Fp see her all dressed up then she realised she still had to attend her school for the day she groaned
she was getting ready when she heard glass smash she ran out the room and heard yelling she intervened "mom whats going on " she saw her mom sitting on the couch with her head in her hands she then saw david walk out slamming the door in doing so. the girl repeated herself "whats going on ?" her mother looked up with her eyes narrowed "its your fault all of it i wish you would have gone with your dad " the now confused "what the hell have i done i couldn't have done anything to you you've been outta town" "then how do you explain this" she held up the serpent jacket "i did it purely for survival at school " the woman looked at her with a disgusted look "survival SURVIVAL THAT IS NO EXCUSE " "you know what i don't wanna deal with this shit bye " she snatched the jacket and put it on and stormed out the house to school
she got through the metal detectors and headed for her locker to get her cigarettes as she had left them there she shoved them in her pocket then went to class she slumped down in her chair and faced front until toni and sweet pea whispered to her "whats up you came in here with a face like thunder " toni elbowed him in the stomach he folded over in pain "no but seriously whats up " she said the girl spoke as she had her head still facing forward "my mom had yelled at me because i joined the serpents which is only minor if only she knew about Fp " she was now smirking at the thought of him the other two smiled "hey you wanna go to the quarry later to cheer you up ? " "can't i have the school dance on the northside" they both just nodded then sweet pea spoke up "why do you still hang with those northsiders your practically a full southsider now" she shook her head "they were my first friends and i've known them since i was in diapers i just can't seem to let them go yano" they both nodded again "fair enough then"they all finished their conversation and carried on listening to the teacher

it was a while later and Alexa started getting ready for the dance until her mother walked in "we've been invited to alice's for dinner before the dance and i said yes its going to be me, you ,betty ,alice , jughead and fp " the girl was at her dresser applying her lipstick "well you would be invited your alice's wing woman and if Fp is there your gonna wanna be there and i'm certainly not getting a ride with you i'll drive myself so i guess i'll see you there what time are we expected?" the mother glared at her daughter "7:30 you better be on time " Alexa's response was just an eye roll and the mother left the room to let the girl finish getting ready she checked her phone for the time it was 7:15 she put the cap on her lipstick and walked out to her car slipping her heels on in the process before she drove away she texted her secret love

she smiled and began driving it was a 10 minute drive but Alexa didn't mind because it gave her time to think about everything by time she had finished thinking she was already at alice's so she parked the car and made her way to the door. she knocked with elegance a few seconds later the door opened to reveal alice "hello there Alexa your just in time your mom isn't here yet but your more than welcome to go sit down betty is through there " "thanks aunty alice"she walked past her and mumbled "eww" to herself and found her way to the table sitting at an empty seat next to betty "hi betty it feels like i haven't seen you in forever " betty stood up and hugged her best friend "well you've been busy with the south side but i have so much to tell you" they both took their seats and began conversing until there was a knock at the door then in walked the devil spawn herself Olympia Thompson with alice arms linked and being themselves behind them was the jones men awkwardly trailing behind Alexa was ready for a night of awkwardness and arguments
