It was a nice sunny day just like always and I was unfortunately helping my aunt Mito at work. Earlier I had asked her if I could help Gon to catch the large fish my dad had caught named as the 'Lord of the Lake'. She told me, "a young woman like yourself shouldn't be fishing. Plus if you helped him, there's a chance he'll catch it."

Yeah, now I'm stuck here working. Stupid fishes...

A long heavy sigh escaped my lips as I was lost in my thoughts. This wasn't fair at all.

"Gon's still trying to catch the Lord of the Lake?" A man asked and I realized it was directed towards my aunt.

"H-huh? Oh y-yeah...He's been at it for a week, non-stop." She answered, not looking at the 2 males behind her.

"You promised he could take the Hunter Exam if he caught the Lord of the Lake?" The other man said.

"What a fool! 5 adults couldn't manage to reel in that monster. How is a child supposed to catch that beast? Mito-san doesn't want him to taking the Hunter Exam." The first man said.

"But Gon's old man was the same age when he caught it..." The other one said and then they started to walk away.

I glanced over at Mito and I saw her make a face when people talk about Ging as if she hated him. I'm not hoping or praying for Gon to catch that fish because I know he will and once he does, people would stop looking down on him.

"It's huge!"

"This is the Lord of the Lake?"

"It's been 20 years!"

"I know! It was Gon's father that time, right?"

"He actually caught it! Wow!"

People were surrounding the Lord of the Lake as they kept making comments as they looked at the large blue creature.

I glanced at the only person who was quite far from the crowd. It was clear Mito was upset that Gon was able to achieve such a thing. Suddenly, all attention was on her.

"Mito-san!" Gon ran to our aunt with a wide smile. "I caught the Lord of the Lake, as promised...So I can take the Hunter Exam, right? Right? I'll do my best. I promise to become a Hunter! Let's go, (y/n)!" He said and grabbed my wrist and didn't give her a chance to talk as we started running. I would say more like he was dragging me all the way home by force. I looked over my shoulder and saw how depressed she was. She should've expected this.

Later that day, I was done packing my stuff and I was currently sitting on Gon's bed, watching him pack extra clothes for him to take. Suddenly, Mito opened the door to his room and walked in.

"Are you sure about this?" Mito asked Gon.

"Uh-huh." He said.

She then looked at me. "Are... you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes." I simply replied as I looked at her.
