We were now at a different location that seemed like a house or maybe even a fancy apartment building. Netero took us to this large room with a fighting platform and I saw who were the ten applicants. It was Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, Pokkle, Bodoro, Gittarrackur, Hanzo, Hisoka, and I.

"Well, gentlemen and lady. Did you get plenty of rest? This hotel is owned by the Hunter Exam Selection Committee. The place is all yours until the battles have concluded.” A board with a cloth on it was brought next to Netero, “for the Final Phase, we will be holding a one-on-one tournament." And with that, Netero took off the cloth and it was a chart of lines. Like those in the tournaments.

"So only the last person standing passes?" Leorio asked as we all looked at the board.

"No. One win is all you need to pass." The chairman replied.

"Only one win?" Gon asked.

"The winners are removed from competition, while the losers continue the bracket. In other words, the person who finishes at the top will not pass. Does everyone understand now?" The old man explained.

"So you're saying that only one person will fail." The ninja guy said.

"Exactly. And here is the bracket." Netero peeled a paper that was on the bottom of the lines. Guess what? The bottom part was the photos of the applicants and who they're going to fight. The fights so far is me vs Hanzo, Gon vs. Hanzo, Kurapika vs. Hisoka and the others… Well, I'm not too interested.

"Impressive, right? After all, everyone has at least two chances to win."

"But some people, like #294 and #405, get five chances." Pokkle said.

"Why didn't you use a balanced bracket?" Bodoro asked.

"A question that must be on everyone's mind. This bracket was assembled based on your performances throughout the entire exam." Netero explained.

'What? Does that mean they saw EVERYTHING I did? Well I'm fudged.'

"Those who performed better received more chances."

'Well....I still get like 2 or 3 chances of winning. That's not so bad..'

"Wait. That doesn't sound right. Can you explain how you scored our performances?" Killua asked Netero and there was a moment of silence.

"No!" Netero said shaking his head hysterically.

"Why not?" Kil asked, clearly pissed off.

"Your scores are classified information. So I can't tell you everything. But I can explain our methods. First, we consider three major criteria: psychical strength, mental strength, and overall impression. For psychical strength, we use an aggregate of agility, flexibility, endurance, and perception. For mental strength, we use an aggregate of resilience, adaptability, judgment, and creativity. However, this information is only used as a reference point. After all, you were strong enough to advance to the Final Phase. However, we are most concerned with your overall impression. This refers to any intangible factors not previously mentioned. You could consider this an evaluation of your potential as a Hunter. And we also incorporate the opinions of your peers. That was our process." Netero explained.
