Your POV

Today was the day. The day you planned on confessing everything. The day that would change your life for the better or the worse. Today was Valentines Day. And you had an amazing plan.

Kai's POV

Today is Valentines Day! I'm sure all the ladies will be hoping for me to ask them out, but I only have eyes for one girl. And today's the day I will confess.

Kai paced up and down in the kitchen, the aroma of the breakfast pancakes still lingering in the air. He'd been hoping to pull Y/N aside after breakfast to ask her to be his valentine, but she'd disappeared. Still slightly nervous, he made his way back to his room, where he was greeted with an unexpected sight. Pinned to his door was a note, supposedly a love letter. He reached out, tugged it gently off, and slowly opened it. It read:

'Hey Hothead ;) I bet you weren't expecting this, huh? Anyway, I've had my eyes on you since we met (not creepily), and was hoping you had too. So if you read between the lines, you can be my Valentine!
->->->->->->->->->->->->->
Sincerely, Me. Xoxo

P.S: I'm not good at rhyming... :P'

Kai chuckled slightly at the ending, a smirk tugging at his lips. He was pretty annoyed at the fact they'd put 'Sincerely, Me,' but that made him more determined to find who wrote it. Kai read the letter over and over again before finally noticing the arrows between the lines, pointing east of his room. Quickly, he walked down the corridor, until reaching a turning, where he spotted something. A folded note lay on the bookshelf by the window. Kai hurriedly picked it up and eagerly opened it. He read it quickly, aloud;

'So you found the second note I've left for you! The next clue won't be so easy to decipher. Does anybody have a map, anybody maybe happen to know how the hell to do this? I don't know if you can't tell but this is me just pretending to know!

Sincerely, Me.'

Kai could've sworn he'd heard that last part somewhere before, but that was the least of his worries right now. He was too busy wondering how to find the next clue. Absentmindedly, he fidgeted with the piece of paper in his hands, turning it over repeatedly. Then something caught his eye. On the back of the letter was a map. How could he be so dumb? Kai followed it eagerly until he reached the place marked on the map. He surveyed his surroundings, keeping a close eye out for a letter. Then he discovered a piece of paper dangling from the ceiling. Determinedly, Kai leapt up and grabbed the paper carefully. He unfolded it and scanned the words written:

'Glad you managed to reach me! Now onto the next clue! While I'm watch-watch-watching people pass, waving through a window. Can anybody see?

Sincerely, Me'

Kai tutted under his breath, something stirring in the back of his mind at the repeated word. He knew he'd heard it somewhere before! Maybe a song? Glancing at the back of the letter, Kai saw another map leading him to the next clue. So he followed it once again. This one lead him to a window, which didn't seem to have any signs of a note lying around anywhere. He studied the windowsill closely, and spotted a note lying underneath the flower pot that had been lying aimlessly there for ages. Kai pulled it out swiftly and read the note;

'So, this is the last note. I hope you've had fun on your little adventure! Here's your last clue, and I'll see you on the other side!
Except sometimes you see everything you wanted and sometimes, you see everything you wish you had and it's right there, right there, right there in front of you.

Sincerely, Me. Xoxo'

Another map was drawn on the back. Kai followed it, intent on finding his secret admirer and glad to finally be able to see them. When he reached his destination, he looked up to see his room right in front of him. He was back at the beginning. Now he knew what they meant in the last note. Tentatively, he reached out his hand and pushed open his door. And sitting on his bed was the one and only Y/N.

"Took you long enough!" You stated.

Kai's POV

I can't believe it was Y/N all along! And those words I recognised - they were Dear Evan Hansen lyrics! I sighed internally as the widest smile spread across Y/N's face.

You couldn't believe he didn't realise it was you all along! You burst out laughing as Kai stared at you, dumbfounded.

"Really, Y/N? Dear Evan Hansen lyrics?" Kai questioned.

You finally calmed down, the smile still etched on your face cheekily. "Why not?" You chuckled.

Kai rolled his eyes. "It's Valentines Day." He stated obviously.

"I think it was a-" You were cut off as a pair of lips smashing against your own. At this, you felt butterflies erupt in your stomach as you realised Kai had kissed you sweetly. Kai wrapped his arms around you to deepen the kiss as you were pulled closer to his chest. You reached up and ran your fingers through his soft, brown locks, wishing this moment would never end. Feeling the need to breathe, you pulled away gently, a smile lingering on your features as Kai gazed down at you lovingly.

"Well, that was sudden," you breathed softly.

"Sorry if you didn't like it, I mean-" he was cut off by you leaning in and placing a small kiss on his lips.

"It was amazing," you whispered, face lightly flushed. Kai smiled down at you, a blush also dusted on his cheeks.

"So I take it you'll be my valentine?" You smirked as Kai pulled you into a side hug.

"Why not? It'll be us, it'll be us, and only us," he sang softly, and you looked at him in shock that he remembered any lyrics.

"And what came before won't count anymore," you sang.

"We can try that, you and me. That's all that we need it to be, and the rest of the world falls away, and the rest of the world falls away," you both sang.

"The world falls away, the world falls away, and it's only us." You both finished softly, gazing lovingly into each others eyes.

"I love you, Kai." You said, barely a whisper.

"I love you too, Y/N." Kai replied as the two of you enjoyed each others company for the rest of the day.
