abby now looked at a black and white picture of her and her boyfriend cuddling together,

as she looked closer to the picture and stared at it for a few minutes.

automatically her iphone plays the song The Drifter by Paul Williams set to her feelings of despair as she began to stare at the picture.

the verse soothed her ears.

once again
there's a feeling inside of me
nothing new
i've felt it before
like the voice of hunger
inside of me crying out
there's got to be more

she felt sad and hopeless as she listened to the song and stared at the picture at the same time.

the more she looks at the picture,

automatically paul's voice sings in abby's head while abby completely ignores The Drifter song,
mentally focusing on hearing Paul's voice singing to her in her head.

half asleep i hear a voice
is it only in my mind
or is it someone calling me
someone i failed and left behind

as abby hears paul's voice singing verse loud and clear,

she gets a visual flashback of her boyfriend smiling at her as paul's singing voice completely triggered the memory in her subconscious.

she began to pick it up and swung it down hard in emotional anger as she heard the broken glass loudly shattering into a million pieces on the red wood floor symbolizing her brokeness.

she now grabbed the glass sharp pointy shards into her hand from the floor and tightly balled her fist as she felt the intense pressure of the glass cutting into her skin making her bleed,

her facial expressions were of a mix of extreme anger and sadness.

the crimsion dark blood dripped from her bloodied fist

overflowing through her fingers and palm, dripping and splatting into the bright red wood flooring symbolizing her soul is dying inside.

she felt her tears were overflowing from the intense pain and suffering she put herself through.

she loudly gasped in pain and in labored breaths as she tightly let the glass shards roughly penerated her delicate skin sending her into more overwhelming pain.

she set herself laying down on the floor and hugged her knees to her chest tightly in a fetal postion.

she sang along with Paul Williams singing,

not a lot i can do
but give in to the drifter
there's a drifter in meeee...

a few minutes later after the song ended,

abby now got up via putting her unharmed hand on the floor, lifting her completly up.

she gasped in pain and terror as she tried to spread out her hand.

abby now looks around her surroundings,

she now grabs a cloth from the sofa and wrapped it around her bloodied hand,

she loudly screamed in pain as she tried to tightly apply intense pressure to stop the bleeding.

she hums and shaked her head slowly as she let paul's voice filled her ears.

she now calmed down and breathed deeply as she somberly looked at the clock reading 6:00am.

abby now stood in front of the black wooden door with cabret red marble skull doorknob

with a dark red Paul Williams The Hell Of It lyric quote written on the front of the door saying born defeated,
died in vain... super-destructive, you were hooked on pain.

she gets out her jacket from her closet.

she pust on her black cotton wool peacoat that is kneelength with side to side black buttons with narrow lapels,

she puts them up effectively hiding her face.

she puts her black scarf around her neck,

black nylon gloves as well.

she grabbed her bookbag from the floor and swung it on her shoulder.

she began to open the door as she put her hand on the doorknob then slamed the door behind her.
