Chapter one, Mika watches Yuu run off as he is bleeding to death on the floor.
So many horrible things happen to him on that floor: losing his family and eventually being forced to drink vampire blood, turning into one of their kind by force while laying there.
Without his surviving precious family, the boy who ran off, Mika has to lay there all alone and bear the weight of loneliness in his bleeding chest for the next four years.
However, chapter 36 comes along, creating what could possibly be a parallel.
Yuu stops struggling against Mika's grip. Both of the boys lay sprawled on the floor.
Mika has the chest wound again in this scene, and not only is the physical pain there but the mental/emotional wound as well.
However, this time, with Yuu laying on the floor with Mika, it seems Mika no longer has to bear the pain alone.
Their relationship is seriously beautiful.
