It was spring time and the atmosphere had grown to be beautiful. There was no need for anymore coats or scarves. The grass and trees are illuminating with life, delicate petals flying in the morning wind. It was ideal for any sort of meet ups, especially since this was usually the season where people confessed. It was odd but understandable why they would chose spring out of any other time.

Of course Shuuichi and Rantarou were walking home per usual. That is until Rantarou felt a delicate hand touch his sleeve. It was a normal thing Shuuichi did when he wanted to make requests, such as if he can stay over or to hear him out on something. "What is it Saihara?" Rantarou asked and Shuuichi looked at him for a brief minute before jerking his head away with a red hot face. What was his deal? His mouth opened slowly,

"A-amami-kun, Is it okay if you.. h-held my hand..?"

His voice was shaking  and Rantarou could see the blush both on his face and fingertips. The fingertips that were touching the sleeve of Rantarou's shirt had a tint of red. He had no idea how to reply. Shuuichi looked so cute when he asked him that question and the pure request..
Rantarou rubbed his hand against the back of his head, he could feel a little heat. Spring was known to be hot sometimes.

"S-Sure..? Why not." Rantarou responded. It was a surprise to hear Rantarou, who usually spoke so casually and calm, was now stuttering. Rantarou took a glance at Shuuichi, his hat was lowered to cover his face but it was still beet red.
Rantarou reached his hand out to Shuuichi and Shuuichi reluctantly tried to tangle his fingers into Rantarou's. It took them a while to adjust to who got to do it first as both of them kept untangling their fingers in confusion. It was then settled and their hands were finally mended together. Shuuichi's hand felt so delicate that Rantarou felt the need to hold it with absolute care. Shuuichi's slender fingers were so warm from embarrassment that it emitted a small heat into Rantarou's palm. Shuuichi's hand was also noticeably soft, it almost felt like a girl's hand..
Rantarou looked over to Shuuichi to still see his red face but he sworn that beneath his cap he also saw a small smile on Shuuichi's face. It was a nervous smile. "I-I'm sorry if this feels weird.." Shuuichi said softly, Rantarou could see a little bit of regret in his eyes, like he was contemplating as to why he had asked Rantarou to hold his hand in the first place. They walked slowly, trying to adjust to walking with conjoined hands. "Oh yeah, speaking of which, why did you want to hold hands?" Rantarou asked with a curious glance. Shuuichi looked away and his voice was so soft and quiet that it sounded inaudible,
"I-I guess I got too comfortable.." He answered. Rantarou didn't know how to feel about Shuuichi's vague answer.

It also didn't help the case of yesterday with everyone yelling how they can see them in a relationship. It was all so much and now here they are, holding hands. It wasn't exactly the worst thing though, the feeling felt nice. It felt comforting for both parties, though it was still a little embarrassing. Rantarou noticeably had more of a grip as he felt the need to secure Shuuichi's gentle and dainty hand. He wanted to protect it with all his life.

"His probable boyfriend, Saihara-Chan"

No he was joking, those words shouldn't even be considered. It was odd how Shuuichi still thought about those words, sometimes he wondered how would Rantarou feel if he were there to hear it too. But no, it shouldn't matter, it's a joke. Right?

When they reached Shuuichi's house, they carefully unlocked hands. Rantarou saw Shuuichi's hand flutter away from his, a petal flying delicately off the mini fruit blossoms from the trees. "See you tomorrow!" Rantarou said to him with a smile and Shuuichi mutually wished him a good day as they parted away.

Shuuichi was doing sit ups with Kaito at gym class. "Y'know Shuuichi, the weirdest thing happened to me today." Kaito said between huffs. Kaito was known to be informal so Shuuichi didn't mind being called by his first name, it was just a thing Kaito did. "What happened?" He asked. Kaito took a deep breath.
"You'd think it'd be the opposite but actually, Maki roll confessed to me yesterday." Kaito said with a small laugh. Shuuichi was surprised, he didn't think Maki would be the one to confess to Kaito. Especially with how cold and serious Maki Harukawa was. Shuuichi can recall her constant phrase "do you want to die?" With her cold and serious face. She was very intimidating as her red eyes constantly looked emotionless or glowed in a frightening light. To think that such a girl had a soft side that confessed her love to Kaito..
"Yeah weird huh? The cool and cold hearted Maki roll was on the rooftop, confessing to Kaito Momota! Luminary of the stars!" Shuuichi couldn't help but to give a little chuckle as Kaito reinforced his status. "It's spring time.. it's probably why she confessed to you now.." Shuuichi responded, he sounded dazed, like his statement just gave him an idea. "Could be! Spring magic, am I right?" Kaito said with another chuckle. Shuuichi nervously laughed to go along with it. "T-that's a way to word it." Shuuichi replied, he tried not to let anything get to his head. He just quietly laughed it off, his chuckle being overpowered by Kaito's loud and vigorous laughter.

As Shuuichi was once again at the school exit, waiting for Rantarou, his conversation with Kaito started to replay in his mind. He found himself smiling at Kaito's silly phrase "spring time magic!" Maybe thats what it could be, there's always the possibility.
"Yo Saihara, sorry I was late." Shuuichi shot his head up at Rantarou, who was casually smiling again. Shuuichi was surprised how he was able to recover from such a moment. He admired it.

"Do you want to make hand holding a normal thing too?" Rantarou asked casually but with a small chuckle, like he was teasing him. Shuuichi didn't know how to feel about it, it was nice to have Rantarou hold his hand but he didn't expect Rantarou to accept it so easily. He didn't even expect Rantarou to like it all. "I-if it's okay.." Shuuichi responded but he yelped and blush a little as he felt Rantarou's hand wrap around his. He noticed how cool the rings felt compared to the rest of his hand. "So I hold it like this, right?" Rantarou asked, looking at Shuuichi with curious eyes. Shuuichi felt Rantarou's grip tighten. "Y-yeah.." Shuuichi replied.

It was noticeably more windy out today. More petals flew in the wind and Shuuichi had to hold onto his hat multiple times to make sure it didn't fly away with them. Rantarou chuckled every time Shuuichi pinned his hand onto the top of the cap. "If you want, I can hold it for you." He offered. Rantarou's baggy pants had two large pockets that were able to fit Shuuichi's hat if it were scrunched up just a bit.  Shuuichi hesitated on the offer but in the end, he let Rantarou take his hat.

Shuuichi always looked pretty but outside, standing under the shining sun and the wind that scattered petals everywhere, he was gorgeous. Like a piece of art. Shuuichi looked away from him a lot but Rantarou still couldn't help but to admire. It was then that a small, white, petal flew onto Shuuichi's black hair. "Hey Saihara, can you look at me for a bit?" Rantarou asked. "W-why?" Shuuichi replied, slightly looking at him. "You just got a little petal in your hair, just turn around for a bit. Rantarou said casually and Shuuichi reluctantly obeyed. His face had a dark shade of pink as he was looking right at Rantarou, or the area around him. Rantarou inched closer and gently put his hand on Shuuichi's hair, his finger slowly working it's way through the strands. Shuuichi shut his eyes tight as his face got hotter.
"There we go." Rantarou said as he managed to pluck the petal out of his hair. Shuuichi managed to open his eyes and looked at Rantarou who was suddenly so close, he did not know how to react. His face was extremely red as he continued to look at Rantarou. Shuuichi then noticed something in Rantarou's eyes. Rantarou's eyes suddenly looked softer than usual, like he was happy about something.
Than Shuuichi realized why.

He managed to look him in the eye.

Almost in a trance, Rantarou, put his fingers back to where the petal was and continued to play with Shuuichi's hair until he reached the side of his face. He moved his head and softly held Shuuichi's cheek. It was also soft and warm. "So pretty.." Rantarou's mumble was hard to understand but those were the words that Shuuichi had sworn he heard. "Amami-kun!" Shuuichi's voice sounded a little strict so he could bring him back to reality. Rantarou immediately tended up and moved back, though it was limited since their hands were still interlocked. "Uh, sorry! Did I do something?" He asked, trying to keep his cool, though he knew it would be embarrassing judging from Shuuichi's face. "L-let's just keep going.." Shuuichi simply said and so they kept walking forward, pretending as if nothing happened.

When they reached Shuuichi's house, Rantarou watched Shuuichi's hand flutter away from his, his delicate fingertips slowly unlocking from the crevices of Rantarou's fingers. "I'll see you tomorrow, Alright?" Rantarou said casually, of course trying to recover from the earlier events. Shuuichi just nodded this time, he was at a loss for words. When Shuuichi went inside his home, he closed the door and did a deep sigh. He put his hands on his face, he never felt this embarrassed, and he thought yesterday was bad! Then Shuuichi realized something.

Rantarou still had his hat!

Shuuichi looked out the window to see if Rantarou was still around, but no. He must've gotten home by now. Shuuichi took out his cell phone from his backpack, he was tempted to call Rantarou to ask for it but he didn't have the courage. Maybe he'll meet up with Rantarou and ask for it tomorrow.
