Many years passed since the love they shared at high school. The two were still together and graduated college as of late. Rantarou was brave enough to pull out the engagement ring, the sight had brought Shuuichi to tears. It was cute really to see him cry and smile at the same time. Though Rantarou still couldn't help but to feel sad and a little bit of shame when he would see Shuuichi cry.

Rantarou and Shuuichi were moving boxes to the small apartment. Rantarou wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. "Is that all of them?" He asked Shuuichi. Shuuichi put the last box down with a huff. "Yeah.." he replied. "Aw great now we have to unpack all of this." Rantarou said with a grumble but Shuuichi laughed a little. "It's fine, we can do it tomorrow. Besides, the apartment is semi-furnished, we can manage." Shuuichi explained as his eyes went to the couch. It looked modern at least and was clean. The apartment was noticeably very small. It only had one, small kitchen, an average sized living room, a single bedroom, and two small bathrooms that only had a sink, toilet, and a shower. It was also pretty bland with little to no furniture other than a simple wooden coffee table and dinner table and a couch with a uncomfortable bed, the walls were an ugly greyish white. It was at least manageable for the young couple, it's not like they planned to have children or anything.

Shuuichi pulled down the sleeves that he had rolled up. "So what do we do now?" He asked Rantarou but Rantarou just shrugged. "I dunno. Just chill I guess." He replied casually. Shuuichi opened a box and started to rummage through it. "Hey! I thought you said we would unpack tomorrow!" Rantarou scolded as Shuuichi continued to rummage the box. "But Rantarou, I found something!" Shuuichi said with a pleading tone as he took out their highschool year book.

It was funny how Shuuichi finally decided to call Rantarou by his first name right after they got engaged. Patience was another of his best qualities. "Oh that?" Rantarou said while raising an eyebrow, looking at the cover of the yearbook. Shuuichi nodded and sat on the couch, asking Rantarou to join him. Slowly they began to flip through the pages and smiled and laughed at each of the nostalgic memories. They saw the one picture of Kokichi threatening Miu with a nail gun, another of Angie attempting to paint Himiko with an unamused Tenko in the background, Tsumugi trying to help Kiibo achieve his dreams by making him an idol dress, Kaito falling over his chair, Kaede teaching Maki how to play the piano, Gonta presenting a bug to the whole class, Ryoma poking a sleeping Rantarou to get him to wake up, Shuuichi somehow falling out of a locker, and Kirumi petting a sleeping Korekiyo on her lap. They couldn't help but to laugh a little at the many pictures in the yearbook. The yearbook crew were definitely just taking these to screw with everyone. They also flipped through the pages to see everyone's pictures, some quotes were amusing while others were meant to be taken seriously. Though it kind of made Shuuichi sad when he didn't see Kaede's picture due to her leaving to graduate from another school. The only pictures of her was from the early years when she attended the same school as Rantarou and Shuuichi.

"Wait, we were marked as couple of the year?!" Shuuichi suddenly exclaimed and Rantarou looked at the achievement page to see it too. "What the hell?! Did people really vote for us??" Rantarou questioned. The achievements page solely relied on class vote, so it was a shocker to see them win couple of the year. They continued to flip through it a little more without letting that page creep them out. They closed the yearbook and Shuuichi sighed while he looked at the clock at the wall. It was pretty late but at least they spent their day productively. Rantarou looked over to see Shuuichi with a sleepy smile on his face. Of course, it was almost 12 AM, any normal person would get tired. Rantarou planted a kiss on his forehead. "I'll put the yearbook away." He said while he went over and carefully took it from Shuuichi's fingers and placed it back in the box.

As they went to the single bedroom, it was smaller than they expected. It had a simple closet and dresser with a twin bed. At least it wasn't small enough to feel cramped. Shuuichi plopped onto the bed with a sigh. "Mind if I join you?" Rantarou asked but Shuuichi stubbornly shook his head. "Sleep on a mattress..!" He scolded and Rantarou chuckled. "Really? We're engaged and you're still embarrassed about sleeping with each other?" Rantarou teased but Shuuichi let out a pout in defeat. "Well you have a point.." he mumbled and scooted over. He blushed as Rantarou went on the bed. "I'm not going to lie, I was a little skeptical of the whole pond wish thing but it's funny how my wish actually came true. How I've been with you for almost forever." Shuuichi said with a small smile. He looked at peace. "Oh yeah speaking of which, I messaged Akamatsu a few days ago." Rantarou said in a matter of fact tone while looking at the plain white ceiling. "Did you really?" Shuuichi asked in awe and Rantarou shook his head. "Remember how I was keeping her updated on how you were doing since highschool? Well I told her about the fact that we got engaged and she was really happy. She told me that she recently moved out of her parent's house and wanted to go to the same apartment as us. So in short, we may see her again." Rantarou said with a smile and Shuuichi's eyes widened. He was so happy to hear that he would see Kaede again after so long. Rantarou chuckled. "Why else do you think that I postponed our engagement party?" Rantarou asked as Shuuichi finally shook his head in understanding. Of course, Rantarou was considerate and wanted to wait until Kaede came here so she could attend. After all, it would be nice to see her again at their party, smiling and cheering at their success and happiness.

Shuuichi laughed a little. "I guess plan: Take Care of Shuuichi worked, huh?" He asked and Rantarou laughed at his phrase. "You can say that." He said when he managed to stop laughing. Then he went and gently embraced Shuuichi. Shuuichi closed his eyes. "I like it when you embrace me like this, especially since I'm so close to your chest and I can hear your heartbeat." He said with a smile and Rantarou smiled back. "Yeah, you can say that it beats for you." And Shuuichi tried to hold back laughter from Rantarou's cheesy line, even Rantarou started to chuckle a bit. "No but really,

I love you Shuuichi. I've loved you for such a long time and I'm grateful for that. I'm glad that I had the honor of being exposed to someone like you, to someone who's so kind and has the sweetest laugh, voice, and smile. I love everything about you Shuuichi, don't forget that, okay?"

Rantarou said with sincerity as he smiled. Shuuichi started to tear up at Rantarou's tangent of words, of kind words. He was used to Rantarou complementing him but this, this phrase was meant to be special. Shuuichi pressed his chest closer to Rantarou's and tried to bury his tears in Rantarou's shirt.

"Hey." Rantarou said softly and lifted Shuuichi's head to face him. Cupping his face, he wiped away his tears while planting a kiss on his forehead then another on his cheek. "Don't cry now. I want to see Shuuichi smile." He said softly as he leaned over to Shuuichi, planting a soft kiss. Shuuichi looked up and said with a tearful smile.
"I love you too, thank you for putting up with me Rantarou after all of these years." He said softly. He managed to give Rantarou the smile he wanted.

Of course, they were able to spend the rest of their lives together. Every day, every week, every month, and every year with happiness and bliss.

END.
