I opened my eyes to see the ceiling of the rink. Everything was fuzzy as I tried to blink it away. I heard Yuri's voice but it was like he was speaking through water. I couldn't hear him very well. I turned my head to see Yuri who looked like he was freaking out. "Jeez, what's got you all worked up?" I asked. A small smiled formed on his face as I sat up, but lay back down as a headache decides to grace me with it's presence. I groaned in pain and looked at Yuri, "Seriously. What happened? All I remember is doing my program," I said.
Yuri gave me a look and shook his head, "That was not your program and never will be," his voice was stern and I furrowed my brows. "What it that bad?" I asked, my voice cracked a bit and I cleared my throat in attempt to fix it. Yuri shook his head. "No, it wasn't bad but you did a triple axel and managed to turn a triple toe loop into a quad. You worked yourself so hard, you collapsed and hit your head on the ice so hard you passed out," I could tell Yuri was worried. His hair was messed up which told me he had run his hands through it several times.
I slowly sat up, my headache was still there, but it wasn't near as bad. I felt something land on my lap and looked down to see a rag with blood on it. I looked at Yuri who grabbed it and placed it against my head. I winced as my forehead stung when he put pressure on it. Yuri gave me an apologetic smile, I smiled back and watched him.
"Can I have my phone back?" I asked. His gaze met mine as he gave me an unsure look. "I'm okay now. I promise." He sighed and reluctantly pulled it out of his pocket, handing it to me. I smiled and turned on the camera. I laughed a bit; I looked like a mess. My cheeks were pink from the cold, my hair was a mess, my eyes were red and puffy from my crying. Not to mention the blood residue on my forehead. I looked at the time and according to it I probably wasn't out for more than five or ten minutes.
"What's so funny?" Yuri asked, I smiled at him and set the phone down. "I look like a hot mess," I laughed. Yuri shook his head, "No you don't. You look beautiful, like always," he said, kissing my forehead, avoiding my injury. I gave him a disapproving look, "Yuri, it's not good to lie." Yuri laughed and shook his head. "Well good, because I'm not," He said, setting the rag down, resting a hand on either side of him. He was knelt in front of me, so for once I was looking down at him.
I sighed and pulled my hair out of it's ponytail so that it wouldn't look as horrible. Yuri smiled and ran his hands through it and fixing it for me. Growing up with him came in handy, we was one of the few guys that knew how to do hair.
"Just kiss already!" I looked up to see Yurio with his hands cupped over his mouth from yelling at us across the rink. I felt my cheeks warm up while Yuri stood up. I stood up as well, stumbling a bit from dizziness. Yuri held me steady and I smiled in thanks.
I saw something out of the corner or my eye and looked to see Yuri's phone on the floor. I picked it up and saw the broken screen. I looked at Yuri and raised an eyebrow, handing it to him. He smiled and rubbed the back of his head shyly. "I must've dropped it when I went to help you," he laughed. I smiled and shook my head while he put his phone in his pocket. Yuri sat and took off his skates, putting them in his bag.
"Aren't you going to practice?" I asked, tilting my head. He shrugged. "I thought we'd go hang out since you're not getting back on the ice today," He said nonchalantly. My jaw dropped as I put my hands on my hips. "Says who?" I yelled. I was probably loud enough for the reporters outside to hear. Yuri looked up and stood, "Says your coach and boyfriend." Yuri went to the locker room and I followed. It was then I realized my skates were off and I was just wearing socks, but I ignored it and continued.
"You can't do that!" I said as Yuri put his bag in a locker. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "I already did," He said, watching me. I glared and turned away. I walked back out of the rink and looked around for my skates. They weren't anywhere near the bench I was sitting at or anywhere that I could see around the rink. I frowned and turned to the rink and saw Victor. "Y/N! good to see you are doing better! You should go and get some rest after that fall," He said smiling. I glares and shook my head, continuing my search for my skates.
I was prevented by continuing my journey when my legs were pulled from underneath me and I was lifted into the air. I yelped and Yuri laughed. He dropped my shoes in, my lap and carried me out side. I glared and attempted to squirm out of his grip only for him to tighten it. After a bit of moving around I began to get dizzy. I sighed in defeat and rested my head on his chest. Luckily it was the uninjured side of my head.
I closed my eyes and waited until the dizziness went away and sighed in relief when it did. I opened my eyes and looked up, locking eyes with Yuri. He gave my a shy smile and I smiled back. Yuri tore his gaze away and walked into a small shop. I quickly slipped my shoes back on and smiled realizing where we were.
I looked at the beautifully designed dresses made specifically for skating. Most of them were unique and every one of them were beautiful. I shopped here every time I needed a new outfit for my skating. Mrs. Suzuki made them and each one was gorgeous. We had gotten to know each other very well over the past few years.
In her shop you looked around and if you found something that caught your eye she'd have you try it on and she'd make sure everything fit perfectly before you left. If you didn't like anything you could design your own for a price depending on the products that were needed.
I looked around and Yuri did the same, searching through dresses. He held up a F/C dress with a halter-style top with no sleeves and netted fabric on the sides so you could see skin. I gave him a doubtful look and slowly shook my head. "I would rather showing the least amount of skin as possible," I said, giving a small smile. He frowned, "Why not? You're beautiful," he said shrugging.
My cheeks heated up and I looked at him. He was staring at me seriously and I shook my head. "I have scars that I would rather not be on display for everyone to see," I said. I already got judged enough and I didn't really need more judging.
My scars weren't entirely from self harm. The ones on my wrists were, but the ones on my sides were a bit different. I had a few internal issues as a child and ended up with scars that never went away. Yuri knew about them all and knew I was embarrassed about them. My past wasn't the best but I had been working past it. I used to have a therapist, but he told me I was doing better and didn't need to keep coming anymore so I stopped.
Yuri shrugged once again, "Let them see. If they press judges you, so be it. They're already talking, this is something that could raise more awareness. Do more good than bad." I was left speechless and he picked up a similar outfit. This one was a midnight blue and had a bit more of a sleeve to it, but still showed my wrists. There were patterns across it that looked like cracked glass that shined in the light. I smiled a bit. It looked beautiful, but I wasn't too sure. Before I could give my opinion, Yuri took it to the front where Mrs. Suzuki was and set it on the counter.
I ran after him to stop him, but I was too late. Mrs. Suzuki was already smiling and examining the dress while telling me how proud she was that I had gone with a different style than usual.
Looks like I found an outfit for my Short Program...
