I woke up at about two in the morning to movement beside me. I assumed it was Roman until I realized my arm was around him and gently scratching his head. I turned to see Yuri just in time for him to put his arm around me and pull me closer. My eyes widened and I blushed. I remember both of us dozing off while watching TV, but I assumed he would wake up and go to his own room. Yuri's hand began to play with my H/C hair in his sleep while I was listening to his soft snores. I didn't want to wake him up, so I decided to just try and go back to sleep.
About half an hour later, I was about to doze off when I feel more movement from Yuri. His hand froze from playing with my hair and I almost pouted, because it felt so relaxing. I felt Yuri lift his head to look at my. I tried to wake myself up, but my body was too close to sleep to do so. I felt Yuri's hand move from around me as he lifted it to my face. He gently ran his thumb over my cheek and I heard him mumble underneath his breath.
"I wish that our fake relationship was real..." His voice was soft so I could hardly hear it, "Then we wouldn't have had to split up." I tried to will myself to open my eyes and tell him the truth. I felt the same way, but my body refused. I was too tired. Yuri dropped his hand, leaving it around my waist. I tried to wake myself, but it didn't work. Although after about five minutes or so, I had finally willed my hand to join with him and grip onto it. I felt Yuri do a small squeeze, telling me he was still awake.
I wanted to smiled and jump for joy, but my body wouldn't allow it, so I settled with going to sleep, happy and content that Yuri shared the same feelings as me.
.....................................
I woke up with the sun shining through the windows. My hand was still held within Yuri's and Roman was still beside us. I turned my head to see Yuri watching me with his large brown eyes. His face flushed when he noticed I was awake and tried my best to contain my laugh. Yuri released my hand and moved away from me. "S-sorry. I didn't want to wake you up, so I just. Uh-" I let out a small laugh and rolled over, hugging him. Yuri froze and slowly put his arm around me.
I smiled into his chest while his hand began to play with my hair unknowingly. I slowly let go of him and he smiled. He released me and sat up. I groaned a bit and he did the same. Roman perked up at the sound and jumped off the bed. I laughed a bit. "Well, I should get ready for our day of touring," I laughed. Yuri nodded, seemingly a bit lost for words. "Uh, okay. I'll be back in a bit to take you," He said, cheeks flushing a bit as he walked out to go to his hotel room.
I smiled and got ready. It was obviously going to be cold out, so I dress up in warm clothes. I had a nice sweater with pants and warm boots. I smiled to myself, feeling confident in my appearance and walking out into the hall, with Roman on a leash. I waited in the hallway until Yuri emerged from one of the rooms. I walked over and looked at the number on the door, 106, I'll have to remember that. I turned to Yuri to see his cheeks were a bit flushed. I tilted my head, a small laugh coming from me.
"V-Victor asked me where I was all night. And then he ended up giving me a talk when I told him I was with you," He said, looking to his feet, shifting them a bit. Yuri looked like a small child when he was embarrassed and honestly, it was adorable. I let out a laugh and tilted my head, "What kind of talk?" I asked, curiosity lacing into my voice. Yuri's face was towards the floor, but thanks to our height difference, I could see the blush that held on his face.
"H-He was trying to give me the talk, and was saying how I need to be responsible. And... I don't think I want to go on with the rest..." Yuri trailed off, his cheeks gaining more red by the minute. I laughed, fighting the urge to 'aw' at his reaction.
Yuri gave a microscopic smile and I grinned. "Well, lead the way. You're the one forcing me to go out with you," Yuri smiled and I froze, hearing my words. "Not like that I mean. We were never actually a couple. And even so we broke up. That's not what I meant- Uh-" I was rambling too much, so I cut myself off.
No. More.
Yuri's smile faded and I looked to my feet. Reminders of the night before came to mind and my cheeks heated up. I felt like an idiot. He likes me back, but what if he changes his mind. Plus with his career taking off, he wouldn't have time. The last thing he needs is more stress added on by a girlfriend. I had to put my happiness aside for the well being of others.
That's how everything seems to work nowadays, right?
Yuri seemed to shrug off my comments and grabbed my free hand, dragging me down the stairs. Roman followed close behind us while Yuri took us to the sidewalk outside. A small shiver ran through me as Roman seemed to be having a blast in the cold air. I smiled as Yuri guided me into town. There were a few stores, similar to Berlin, except colder. Yuri and I wandered around, looking from store to store.
Both Yuri and I stopped when a familiar voice called out. "Yuri! Is that Y/N?"
We both turned our heads to the left to see Phitchit. Yuri's hand still held onto mine as Phitchit walked over. Roman barked and jumped up, he had grown a bit since I got him so he could now reach Phitchit's waist when standing on his hind legs. I smiled as Phitchit scratched his ears, smiling widely. "Is this Roman?" He asked, looking up at me. I smiled and nodded, Phitchit smiled back and stood straight while Roman ran around before sitting on a small pile of snow that was outside of the walkway.
Phitchit's eyes trailed down to our joined hands, he moved closer lowering his voice. "Are you guys back together?" He asked in an excited whisper. Once I told him what happened in the picture, we decided to be best to let Phitchit think it's true. He can't exactly keep a secret.
After I explained it, he was disappointed, then asked why my status was in a relationship, so I quickly responded with 'Jk, we just wanted to mess with you!' He seemed to believe it, so it was good enough for us.
I blushed and looked away, chewing my lip out of habit. Yuri's hand let go of mine before I heard a shy, "N-No." Phitchit's grin disappeared and I smiled a bit at the reaction. Phitchit was a fanboy, ship captain with a popular social media.
It was adorable though, he was like some kind of woodland creature scavenging for the latest gossip. I watched as Roman chilled on his patch of snow, seeming pretty relaxed. I smiled to myself while watching. "Well, congrats to both of you for making it to the semi-finals!" Phitchit smiled. Yuri and I nodded in thanks while I responded with a short, "Same to you." Phitchit smiled and his eyes lit up as if he got an idea. "Most of us are gathered up at a cafe a couple blocks down, you guy should join!" he exclaimed, this boy was too happy for his own good sometimes.
I looked at Yuri who shrugged, "Sure. Sound fine to me," he agreed, but looked over at me as if making sure it's okay with me. For a moment, I took a moment to stare into his eyes, but tore them away, meeting them with Phitchit who had a sly smile. "Uh- Sure!" I said, nervousness leaking into my tone.
I'd never really met any of the skaters other that Yurio and Phitchit. Of course I had heard of them all but never even imagined meeting them.
