12. Family First

Cyryn's P.O.V.
I woke up on a couch. I looked around and then remembered I was at Corbyn's place.

I looked around for the blonde haired boy, my eyes landed on him.

He was upside down in a chair with drool dripping from his mouth.

I didn't want to disturb his very important deep sleep so I quietly stood up and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a pan and put it on an oven burner. I grabbed the eggs and bacon from the fridge.

After about 10 minutes of cooking the bacon I heard a very loud thump followed by a groan.

I laughed to myself already knowing what happened.

Soon I heard a very tired and sore Corbyn walk into the kitchen.

"Morning sis" he said as he attempted to sit down.

Yes...

attempted.

He fell off of the chair and I laughed...

very loudly...

"Just stay on the floor. You can't fall off of that" I laughed and made my way to the freezer.

I grabbed and ice pack and placed it on his head, I'm sure that's what hit the hardest when he fell and woke himself up earlier.

"How'd you know?" He said looking at me curiously

"I saw how you were sleeping and heard you fall" I laughed

"Yeah yeah laugh it up now. Just know: Karma's a bitch" he said as he stood up and carefully placed himself on the chair.

"You'll laugh when karma catches me" I said laughing and then he joined in

"So what's for breakfast?" Corbyn asked

"Bacon and eggs" I said tossing him a piece of bacon. Him being the hungry boy he is jumped out of his seat and caught the bacon in his mouth.

Sometimes I wonder if he is part animal...(reference to my other story Hidden Secrets, which will be placed off of hold within the next few weeks)

I was in the middle of grabbing plates when there was a knock on the door.

I looked at Corbyn who was fixing coffee. He returned the look.

"Go hide in Ashley's room. In the closet there is a secret cubby on the right side behind a box. Go now!" He said and I took off running.

There was another knock on the door and I heard Corbyn yell "IM COMING!! YOU CAN WAIT A MINUTE!!

I rushed into Ashley's room and into the closet. I flicked the light on and saw the door. I turned the light back off and went into the little cubby.

I heard Corbyn open the door.

"Hey man, what took so long to open the door??" A familiar voice asked. Jonah.

"I was cooking breakfast" Corbyn said

"Oh, so the boys will be here soon to discuss the plan" Jonah said

"What plan?"

"The plan we talked about last night. If I can't have Cyryn, no one can"

even though I couldn't see Jonah I knew he was smirking.

"Jonah that's messed up man. Why can't you leave her alone. That bitch at school already makes her life a living hell" Corbyn fought for me

"That's also why I came over here. I'm dating that bitch now"

What? Why would he...

I knew I shouldn't have trusted him...

I knew he'd be like the rest...

I knew I should've have fallen for him...

"YOU'RE WHAT?!?" Corbyn yelled, glad to know I'm not the only one that's mad or confused

"I. Am. Dating. Shannon. Campbell. Now" Jonah said slowly

"Dude you're making a mistake"

"No, Cyryn made a mistake"

"What the hell did she do?"

"Reject me"

"SHE JUST MET YOU!! AND I DON'T BLAME HER FOR REJECTING YOU, YOU ARE BEING A DICK"

"What's you're problem man?!?" Jonah said raising his voice

"You! You're my problem! You get rejected for the first time and you decide to go make the girls life even worse because of it!! Doesn't that seem a little harsh!" Corbyn yelled

I heard the door open.

"Corbyn you need to calm down. She brought this on herself." Jonah said

"No she didn't! You're just so mad that one girl saw your true colors and knows to stay away from you so you want to make sure she is too terrified to tell anyone or to like anyone else" Corbyn yelled

"THATS NOT THE REASON!! I-"

"JUST GET OUT OF MY FUCKING HOUSE JONAH!!" Corbyn yelled

"FINE!! YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU'RE OUT OF THE GROUP!" Jonah said and then there was a slam of a door.

"You guys heard him, I'm out. Go follow your leader." Corbyn said

"Corb, he's not our leader..." Jack said

"He acts like it. Now go before he kicks you out too" Corbyn demanded

There was shuffling and then a door closed

"He's not my leader, and he can kick me out. I don't care. I just wanted to let you know, I'm gonna help you protect Cyryn. I can be like a spy." Someone said

"That's nice Dani, thank you. But Jonah will kill you if he finds out" Corbyn said

"Guess I better be a sneaky spy." Daniel said and started more shuffling

"Bye Dani''

"Bye Corbs"

I sat there for a few minutes just thinking...

*beep beep beep beep*

Stupid smoke alarms

I quickly got out of the cubby and ran into the kitchen.

Corbyn was fanning the pan trying to get the grease fire to go away.

He really doesn't know much about cooking

I grabbed a plate and put it on the pan. I took the pan from Corbyn and sat it on a cool burner.

I opened the back door and Windows and turned on the fans. The smoke alarms finally turned off. I looked at Corbyn.

He had a towel that was black from being burned and was torn to shreds. His hands were red and his blood veins were popping out in his arms. His face had tear stains running all the way down to his chin.

I grabbed a paper towel and wet it, I walked over to him and wiped his tear stains.

"Are you okay?" I asked

"Not really... I got kicked of the group..."

"I heard...why didn't you choose them? You've known them longer..."

"First, family comes first. Second, I've known you longer. We were in the same class in second and forth grade. But you always hung out with Shannon so you never noticed me. And I've lived here all my life. The boys just moved here, we were Internet friends and then they convinced their parents to move." Corbyn explained

"Ohhhh" I said

He laughed and helped me clean the kitchen back up. We ate what little bit of breakfast that he didn't burn and finished cleaning the kitchen and then living room.
