34. They Weren't Clingy

We walked into the party and I was immediately overwhelmed.

The music was loud

There were teens jumping around to the music

I saw jack behind some controls that were connected to the speakers

Zach was helping corbyn set up the bar and appetizers

I saw Daniel in the middle of the living room happily dancing with some girls

Then there was the smell

It smelled of sweat, food, and...Alcohol

Then I noticed the teens that were sloppily walk-in around and laughing

Jonah slowly pulled me through the crowd and towards the kitchen

He offered me a solo cup but I quickly declined it

"Oh come on cy, loosen up some" he encouraged

"Jonah I don't drink"

"Just one. Come on. Live a little"

"Jonah no"

"Cyryn I'll be right here with you, nothing will happen"

"No Jonah. I don't drink and you're sure as hell not going to make me"

He went to offer again but I just turned and walked towards Zach

I heard him call after me but I didn't stop.

"Hey mom, what's up?"

"Hey Zach. I didn't know there was going to be alcohol here"

"Oh yeah I forgot this is your first real party. Um well yeah, there is alcohol but don't worry, you won't be the only not drinking if that's what you're worried about"

"What do you mean? It looks like everyone is drinking"

"I'm not drinking. Corbyn and Daniel aren't drinking and that chick over th- wait no, nevermind she's drinking. But Corbyn and Daniel aren't drinking so they can help me control the party. Wanna join the Watch Party of the Party?"

"Sure" I laughed, "nice name for it by the way"

"Leave me alone. It was last minute"

I talked with Zach for a little while before heading off to find Daniel

After about 10 minutes of looking I finally found him sitting on the couch with a girl asleep with her head on his lap while another was asleep on his shoulder.

We made eye contact and he mouthed 'help me'

I just laughed

I gently pushed the girl on his shoulder to the side and laid her down against the arm of the couch. I grabbed a pillow and told Daniel to slowly get up. As he moved I placed a pillow under her head

We silently walked out and he sighed

"Thanks Grace"

"No problem James"

"I never knew how clingy drunk girls could get"

"They weren't clingy Daniel"

"Yes they were"

"No, they were horny"

After he didn't say anything I looked at him only to be met with a wide eyed red faced Daniel

"That's um...wow"

I laughed and we made our way to Corbyn and Christina.

"Hey guys" Daniel waved

They both looked at us and made room for us on the beanbags

Corbyn and Christina shared one while I was in another and Daniel pulled up a chair

"Where's Jonah?" Corbyn asked

"I don't know" I said and looked away

Im still mad at him for trying to make me drink

Corbyns P.O.V.
Cyryn looked away after she answered my question.

I wonder what happened between them

They were fine when I left them

"Hey Cyryn, can I talk to you?" I asked

She looked at me with a curious expression. I glanced to Christina and then back to her

She smiled and stood up

We walked outside into the backyard.

"What's up?" She asked

"No no I brought you out here to ask the questions. Now first of all," I need to think of something to make her not so mad when I ask her about it, "do you think I should wait a while to ask Christina out or should I do it tomorrow?"

"OH MY GOD!!! You should do it tomorrow wait no. Oh guys just met. I would wait maybe a week or two and get to know each other better and then take her on a cute date but not one that's normal but a unique one"

"Okay. Ill do that. Wanna help plan it?"

"Um duh"

We laughed and she turned to leave but I cleared my throat

She turned and stared at me

"That's not all"

She cane back and stood patiently

"What's wrong?" She asked

"Nothing is wrong with me, what happened between you and Jonah?"

She looked around for a minute before taking a deep breath

"He wouldn't stop trying to get me to drink tonight"

"Oh...um that isn't right. He should know better"

"I'm gonna go back inside now if that's all"

"Yeah I'll be there in a sec"

She left and I couldn't help but wonder why he did that

After everything he told me in the store and he came and did that

It doesn't make sense

Why would he- wait

I've got it

He must've wanted her to be drunk when he told her so if she didn't feel the same way then she wouldn't remember it and they would still be friends.

Dang, I should be a detective.

Now time to go find Jonah.
