Chres House that evening

You: (walk in) hello? Mama?

Nelson: (looks at Trey) this is big.

Madison: (looks over the stairs) hi y/n. I'll be down in a second. (Runs away)

You: you're in here with the door unlocked?!

Nelson: (looks at her) that's Chres daughter right?

Trey: yeah. Don't even.

Nelson: I'm not. I see her on Instagram with her boyfriend.

You: you follow Madison on instagram?

Nelson: she has over 20k followers. Who doesn't?

You: (shake your head) The Madison I follow has only 20 followers. Madison doesn't even know 20,000 people. Are her pictures appropriate?

Trey: babe. Really?

Nelson: (laughs)

Madison: (walks down the stairs) Hey Trey.

You: (looking behind her at Sam)

Sam: hi y/n.

You: Hey Sam. (Looks at Madison) where's your Grandma?

Madison: took Christopher to the game store. Sam was here before she left. (Looks at Nelson)

You: (exhale) this is Nelson. Trey's brother.

Madison: (nods) hi. You're here to stay?

You: if I need to. (Looking at Sam)

Madison: y/nnnn..(pulls you to the kitchen)

Kitchen

You: Madison, what's he doing in your room?

Madison: he wasn't in my room. We were playing the game in Christopher's room.

You: really Madison.

Madison: okaaay..what's the big deal y/n?

You: the big deal? Why couldn't you come down the stairs the first time.

Madison: I was. I was....Y/n I don't know. I was cold so I went to put on this sweatshirt.

You: you weren't cold when you didn't have it on in your room with Sam.

Madison: y/n. Please you're sounding like my mom and dad right now.

You: (step back and look at her)

Madison: (sighs) I'm sorry for having Sam in my room.

You: what were y'all doing?

Madison: (picks up Christopher's iPad off the table and start fidgeting with it) just talking.

You: (lift her chin) Madison. I get that you're growing up. But part of growing up is also making smart decisions.

Madison: I am.

You: (smile a little and rub her shoulders) come here.

Madison: (hugs you)

You: You heard from your dad?

Madison: yeah he landed.(stops hugging and look at you) 

Sam: (walks in the kitchen) should I go?

Madison: (looks at you) I think you should.

You: No he's fine. (Smile) just stay downstairs. (Walks out the kitchen)
