PROLOGUE
Fade In
Addison, Zed, Bucky, and Eliza are being driven in the back of a police car by officer Gus after being caught sitting on a bench, arguing with a couple of vandals from Flower Cliff. The sirens blare loudly as the car zooms through the quiet streets of Zombie Town. Zed glances up at the camera.
ZED
(Speaks to the camera)
This is not how I planned for Addison and I's first date to end. I mean cops. Vandals? Ugh, this has got to be the worst date in history. We didn't even get to finish it.
(Looks at Eliza)
ELIZA
(Sighs and looks at Bucky)
Why is it that every time you get a chance to do what you want to do, we end up in the backseat of a squad car?
BUCKY
(Opens his mouth then closes it)
I really don't know. But at least none of us are in trouble this time.
ELIZA
You weren't in trouble last time, Zed, Bonzo, and I were in trouble.
BUCKY
Oh yeah, sorry.
ELIZA
(Sighs)
It's fine. It's old news. And we've moved on from it. But if our date ends like this again tomorrow, we're going to be one of those couples that only communicate during school.
BUCKY
What type of couple is that?
ELIZA
First grade couples.
BUCKY
(Mouth drops)
ZED
(Looks back at the camera)
If they become a couple before Addison and I do, I'm going to be mad.
GUS
(Stops the car)
Alright, first house. Who's is it?
ZED
(Looks out the window and sighs)
Mine and Eliza's. Mine is on the left, hers is across the street.
GUS
Alright then.
BUCKY
(Opens the door and gets out the car)
ELIZA
(Slides out of the car)
ZED
(Slides out of the car behind her)
ADDISON
(Slides out of the car behind him)
Gus, would it be okay if Bucky and I walked them to their doors?
GUS
I don't see why not.
ADDISON
Yay, thanks we'll be right back.
They each grabbed their significant other's hand and led them to their front door. Once they were standing up on Zed's porch, Addison engulfed him in a giant hug.
ZED
What's that for?
ADDISON
For the amazing day.
ZED
Amazing, but the date was ruined.
ADDISON
What? No, it wasn't.
ZED
It wasn't?
ADDISON
No. I had a wonderful time.
ZED
(Smiles)
ADDISON
Maybe we can do it again, sometime?
ZED
Yeah, yeah, that would be great.
ADDISON
(Smiles and nods)
Well, I better go. Gus is waiting on me.
(Turns and starts walking down the stairs)
ZED
Addison!
ADDISON
(Stops and turns around)
Huh?
ZED
(Follows her down the steps)
There's something I've been meaning to ask you for quite some time now.
ADDISON
What is it?
ZED
Would you, um, be my girlfriend?
ADDISON
(Stares at him blankly)
