Act 1 Scene 2
Fade In
Officer Gus's car slowly peels down the Seabrook streets; the two teens sitting quietly in the back. As he turned onto Bucky's street, Addison was caught by surprise when she noticed Bree out in her front yard.
ADDISON
Wait, Gus, can you pull over right here? That's my friend.
BUCKY
(Looks at Bree)
Addie, just spend the night at my house. I mean me and Bree live on the same block and there has to be a reason why she's out here so late.
ADDISON
True.
GUS
So, am I letting you both out right here?
BUCKY
Yeah.
GUS
(Nods and pulls over)
You kids be safe, go right inside.
ADDISON
Wait, aren't you going to walk us in?
GUS
After that situation with your mom and dad a couple of weeks back, I've definitely learned my lesson. I'll watch you kids go inside from my car.
ADDISON
(Laughs)
I wasn't going to say anything but the way you kept trying to leave and dad kept calling you back. It was hilarious.
GUS
(Phony chuckles)
Not for me.
BUCKY
Wow. Uncle Dale must've been pretty brutal then.
ADDISON
(Shrugs)
He was the same as always.
BUCKY
Oh, so, brutal?
ADDISON
Pretty much.
BUCKY
(Opens the car door and gets out)
ADDISON
(Gets out)
Thanks for the ride, Gus.
(Walks in Bucky's yard)
BUCKY
(Follows close behind her)
ADDISON
(Stops at the front door and waits for Bucky)
BUCKY
(Walks up to the door and takes his key out his pocket)
I'm not sure if mom and dad are home yet. Something about a charity benefit dinner to help under privileged zombies.
(Puts the key in the lock and turns it)
ADDISON
(Waits)
BUCKY
(Pushes the door and walks into the house)
ADDISON
(Turns and waves at Gus)
GUS
(Waves back and pulls off)
ADDISON
(Watches Gus drive off)
BUCKY
(Peeks out the door)
Is he gone?
ADDISON
Yeah, he's gone.
BUCKY
(Walks outside)
Alright let's go see what's wrong with Bree.
