Lucy POV
This day started wonderfully... Or at least that's what everyone else would say. My 17th birthday and the day I would meet the man I was to be forced to marry, at least that's what I was expecting. But instead little after nightfall my father dragged me through the town to the cave of a long dormant dragon to die.
"FILTHY, UNGRATEFUL BITCH!" He shouted thunderously as he threw me onto the ground in front of the cave. I screamed as I scrapped my arm on the stone.
"F-father... W-why are you doing this to me?" I asked sobbing as I cowered. He glared down at me and said,
"You'll die just like your mother! It's the least of what you deserve for killing her!" He roared
"Please! I was just a child! I didn't know!" I pleaded as white hot tears streaked across my face. He growled and kicked be before finally screaming,
"IF YOU HAD NEVER COME UP TO THIS CAVE SHE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN EATEN! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT! YOU KILLED HER! YOU!!!" With that he left me sobbing pitifully on the brink of the greatest adventure of my life.
