Chapter 5: Fairy Tail

Lucy POV
We had finally arrived in Magnolia. I couldn't help but to be nervous at the thought of getting to Fairy Tail.
"Don't worry Luce, it'll be fine everyone's going to love you. I mean you became friends with Erza if you can manage that you can do anything!" Natsu consoled me for the hundredth time. Him and I had actually gotten closer while we traveled here. In fact I learned that he's actually really sweet.
(Flashback)
After Natsu and Happy calmed down I hit Natsu in the arm.
"Ow! Hey what was that for?!" He asked rubbing his arm. I glared at him and said,
"That is for hypnotizing me!" Then I punched him in the same spot again,
"That is for trying to steal my scarf TWICE! And this," I rammed my fist into his jaw "IS FOR STEALING MY FIRST KISS!!!!!!!!!!!" He barely turned his head and my hand started to throb but I felt great excluding these facts.
"If it makes any difference you were my first too...." He mumbled a light blush on his cheeks.
"Really?" I asked suprised. He gave me a sincere look and nodded.
"There was another girl I was in a relationship with but she has someone else and we never really kissed..." For some reason I felt elated at this news and I felt heat rise in my face. Just then Happy flew up between us and said,
"You lllove each other!" Heat flared up in my face and I shouted,
"You know what? Forget it! It never happened!" I noticed Natsu's eyes glaze slightly before he asked,
"What were we talking about?" I smiled brightly and without thinking I pecked him on the cheek before saying,
"Thank you Natsu."
(End of flashback)
I kept dithering for a little while longer before he grabbed my wrist and started to drag me in the direction of the guild.
(Time skip)
"Come on! Just go in!" Natsu shouted as he gripped my arm and tried to pull me to the door. I stubbornly remained rooted to the spot where I was standing and shook my head firmly. He sighed and turned his eyes skyward and mumbled
"Igneel give me strength." Then he looked me right in the eye walked right up to me and bent down so that his head was at the same height as my waist and scooped me up onto his shoulder causing me to yelp. With that he turned around and walked up to the guild doors and kicked them in shouting
"We are back!!" I squirmed as I tried to get out of his grip.
"Natsu! Put me down!" I yelled. He dropped me and I ended up lying on my back on the floor. I jumped up to glare at him.
"WHAT THE HELL NATSU?! WHY'D YOU DROP ME?!" I shouted angrily as I raised my fist to punch him.
"You told me to so I did." He replied nonchalantly. I growled and started to swing but someone beat me to the punch and a giant fist came out of nowhere and flattened him.
"Natsu! You shouldn't talk to you're girlfriend like that!" A voice said as the fist shrunk and made it's way back to the body it belonged to, my eyes followed it until they landed on a small old man in a strange looking orange and blue hat and a matching jacket over a white shirt. I laughed nervously and said,
"Sir, I'm afraid there's been some sort of misunderstanding, him and I aren't in a relationship." Just then I felt an arm sling itself over my shoulder.
"I guess you misunderstood me at some point, I still want that scarf, but since you won't hand it over and I can't take it I'll just have to settle for having you instead." Natsu said bluntly. I felt heat flare up in my face and my eyes turned the size of dinner plates as I tried to formulate a response.
"NATSUUUUU!" A familiar and menacing voice yelled from behind us.
"Oh Igneel! Anyone but her!" He muttered turning white as my scarf. I grinned and turned clapping as I saw my friend standing in the doorway with a cold glare on her face.
"Erza!" I yelled my grin growing.
"Hello Lucy I'm glad to see you got here alright." She said with a gentle smile. She turned her attention back to Natsu who seemed like he was trying to sneak away.
"What's this about you taking Lucy's scarf? Not to mention you 'having her'?" She asked cold rage evident in her voice. He started to sweat and stutter out a response. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to look at a beautiful white haired woman who was standing behind me. She held up a stamp and in a sweet voice asked,
"Where would you like your guild mark?"
"H-huh?" I asked feeling incredibly confused.
"You're joining Fairy Tail aren't you?" She asked smiling. My eyes widened and I started waving my hands wildly.
"Oh! N-no I-I'm not joining I just came because Erza told me that there were people here who could help me and-"
"What're you talking about Luce? Of course you're joining, you're a mage aren't you?" Natsu asked interrupting me. I felt all the blood leave my face before asking,
"T-this is a mage guild?" I started trembling as I started to think about what my father would do if he learned I'd ever even gotten within 100 miles of this place.
"Of course it is, didn't you know that?" Erza asked concern dripping from each word. I shook my head slightly and squeaked,
"My father forbid me from even mentioning magic in his home, my mother was a celestial mage and so was I but when she died......" I trailed off remembering what happened the first time I tried to practice magic.
"Your father can't reach you here Lucy, you're safe to be whatever you like." The old man said.
"Master/Gramps is right." Natsu and Erza agreed immediately.
"B-but I haven't even practiced my magic in ten years, I don't even know if I can still use it." I said hanging my head.
"A mage's magic is tied in with his or her life force, so long as you breathe and live you will always have it." I felt tears start to prickle at the back of my eyes as a smile spread it's way across my face and I held up my right hand and said,
"I'd like it here then please."
