Chapter 21

I wake up at 1:30 pm on the couch at Maiah and Miles hotel room.

I check my phone to see I have a text from Shailene:

Hey you wanna hang out later?

Me:

Sure I'd love to. you wanna go to the stratosphere??

Shai:

Oh ya!

Me:

Ok you wanna head there now? Meet at the top?

Shai:

Omw

Me:

Kk

After that I go into the bathroom and get changed into some booty shorts and crop top. I put on some light make up then grab some vans.

I grab my purse and phone then head out the door.

Theos POV

I get a text from Shai:

Hurry and get to the stratosphere

Me:

Why?

Shai:

Chloe is meeting us there

Me:

On my way! Thank you so much!

Shai:

Well hurry

When I read that text I was already out the door.

Chloe's POV

I'm at the top of the stratosphere and trying to find Shai and Ansel.

I text Shai

Me:

Where are u?

I wait about 5 minutes no answer, so I call her.

No answer.

I call Ansel. After about 3 rings he answers

Him:

Hello

Me:

Why hello Ansel

Him:

Haven't heard from you in a while stranger

Me:

I know huh?

Ansel:

How are you?

Me:

I've been better

Ansel (he laughs):

Your tellin me.

Me:

How are you?

Ansel:

Well I'm better.

Me:

That's good

Ansel:

Ya I guess so

Me:

So where are you guys?

Ansel:

Oh sorry we are almost at the top we had to wait for Theo.

My voice saddens

Me:

Ohhhhh

Ansel:

What's wrong?

Me:

It's just something that happened earlier.

Ansel:

Oh ok. Are you at the top?

Me:

Ya. I'm in line to jump off.

Ansel:

Cool! Well we are up here.

Me:

Oh I see you guys.

I hang up and wave them over here.

When they get over here Shai is first to get here, Ansel is second, and Theo is last. I give Shai and Ansel a hug, but just pretend Theo isn't there.

"Alright ma'am you are already to and get ready to jump." the man says to me

"Thank you." I walk over to where I get strapped in.

"You need to have another person to jump with you." The guy tells me

"What?!" I say

"I'll go." I hear someone say

I turn around to see Theo walking towards me

"Shai?" I ask

She shakes her head no.

"Ansel?" I ask

He looks like he's about to walk forward but Shai puts her hand on him so he can't walk.

"So I guess your stuck with me." Theo chuckles

"Forced."

He laughs.

Luckily I'm strapped in by now, but I have to wait for Theo.

"Chloe can I just explain."

"No."

"Why not?"

"There's nothing to explain."

"There is actually."

"Theo just leave me alone!"

I turn back to see he's all strapped in.

"Can I go now?" I ask the guy. he nods

"Chloe she was Bridgette!" Theo says

"Screw you!" I say

Before I can hear what he says I jump off.

The wind in my hair. The adrenaline pumping in my veins. This jump can end my life but, so could staying on the building.
