Chapter 30 ~ Cheating

Maddison’s POV

“I hope you accept our offer, Ms. Rodriguez. This is a big opportunity for you.”

“Sir, pwede po bang pag-isipan yan? I’ll ask my parents about it.”

“No problem. Pag-isipan mo ng maigi and I think your parents will be glad to know about this, if you like, we would be happy to inform them about this personally.” Mr. Doctolero happily said.

“No sir. Ako na lang po magsasabi sa kanila.” He just nodded and gratefully dismissed me.

Napahawak na lang ako sa ulo ko habang papalabas ng office. What Mr. Doctolero told me was a good news and same time a bad news for me. Bakit kailangan magkasabay-sabay?  Hinatid ako ng ate ko after we went to her friend, Candy.

“Anong sabi ni Sir? Kahapon ka pa hanap nun sa amin e.” Alex asked as she walks with me in the school corridor.

“Wala naman. It’s about my grades.” I answered back and Alex gave me unconvinced look. I know I can’t hide anything from her kasi parang magkadugtong na bituka namin.

“Wait!”

Alex stopped walking and forced me to face her. I look away as she tries to meet my eyes, andito na kami sa may gym.

“Tell me may problema ka ba Maddison Jane? Hindi ka umuuwi ng dorm these past few days. What’s the problem? Is it about your family or lovelife?” she anxiously asked at nginitian ko na lang siya while I shook my head.

“Liar! You can’t hide it! Hula ko lovelife yan, si Jeron ba o Jeric?”

“Hoy! Hindi ah!! At bakit ko naman sila pproblemahin.” I depended. Why would she think that way?

“Ah! Kala ko nahihirapan kang mamili if what team you’re going to support tomorrow for championship. You know.. your J vs J.” she laughingly stated that makes my eyes wider.

The truth is, I’m not sure as well. Hindi ko pa nga nakakausap si Jeron, hindi naman siya nagrrespond sa mga message ko kahapon. I asked him kung siya ba ung nasa dept store, I think he’s busy. But I’m not going to choose one team kasi pareho ko silang susuportahan.

“Wala akong problema hindi lang ako makauwi sa dorm kasi may inaasikaso kami ng Ate ko.”

 I turn my back to Alex and started walking away. I’m not yet ready to tell anybody about my amnesia. Who would think that I had amnesia? Even me know nothing, I believed its normal na hindi maalala ang childhood days ng isang tao.

“Ate? Did I hear it right? Haha! Kelan ka pa natuto mag-ate huh? Nahihiwagaan ako sainyong magkapatid at hinatid ka pa ni Mayerie kanina dito, ano nakain nun?”

“Hahaha! It’s none of your freaking business, Alex! Leave us alone. Basta okay na kami ng kapatid ko.”

“Okay, okay! Hindi na po, Ate.” Alex mockingly said.

Sino nga ba naman ang hindi magtataka sa amin ni Ate. We decided to bring back our closeness like when we’re child, sweet and caring to each other. I can’t help but to smile every time I imagine my sister smiled to me sweetly, I find it creepy. Masasanay din uli ako.
