Noah drove way over the speed limit.

"NOAH!" I screamed.

It finally got his attention and he pulled to a stop.

He began sobbing, tears falling down his face.

"Noah, pull over." I replied.

He did as he was told.

I pulled him into a hug and he sobbed in my shoulder.

"I'm such a bad, Dad." Noah sobbed.

"No your not. Your the best Dad I've ever seen. You love Maisie more than life itself and you've cared for her all this time alone. Your absolutely amazing, Noah." I replied.

He sniffed rubbed his eyes and got out of the car.

We were in the middle of the country side so it didn't really matter.

I followed him as he walked into the field.

He found a stick and swished it at all the long grass.

"Noah, we need to go back to the police station." I replied.

"I know. But I'm going somewhere else first." He replied.

I frowned but followed him.

In the middle of the field was a house. It looked so old and was falling apart. There were chickens running around and a dog, but it didn't seem to care we were nearby. There was a tractor that looked like it hasn't been used for hundreds of years and it smelt awful.

Noah marched up to the front door and knocked.

I thought he had gone crazy. If anyone actually lived here then they were insane.

A elderly woman opened it. She looked strangely familiar but I couldn't figure it out.

"Noah!" She said. Her face lit up when she saw him.
She had a soft voice and a sweet smile.

"Hey, Nanna." He replied.

His grandma.

"Hey, I'm Rose, come in." She said, to me.

Her house was actually really nice inside. It had pictures all over the walls and cool possessions.

"So? Noah, how are you?" She said.

We went into her lounge and sat down. It was cosy.

"Maisie's gone missing."

This made her smile disappear.

"Crazy girlfriend?" She replied.

Noah nodded.

"Are the police involved?" She replied.

Noah nodded.

"Who's this then, Noah?" She asked.

"Astrid, my girlfriend."

That took me by surprise. I raised my eyebrow but didn't object because of his pleading face.

"I love your name, and your hair." She smiled.

"Thankyou." I said. She seemed genuinely sweet.

"How are you, Nanna?" Noah asked.

"Struggling abit since Grandpappy left." She said with a sad smile. "The chickens and dog are keeping me going. I shouldn't be around much longer anyway."

"Don't be ridiculous." Noah replied.

"Come and live with us, Nanna." Noah pleaded.

"I'd rather die."

Noah frowned and was quite for a minute.

"What if me, Astrid and Maisie got a place?"

"Then, of course." She said. "Now go home and get some sleep, you need to find Maisie."

***

"Noah, we've found Maisie." A police officer rang me.

I immediately woke Astrid up.

Astrid's brother, Orlando had finally convinced me to get some rest.

I was snuggled up with Astrid on her bed. She had clung to me with her head on my chest snoring away.

I hated to wake her but Maisie has been found.

"Astrid, Maisie has been found!!" I replied.

We travelled to where Maisie was.

I watched Niomi get handcuffed and pushed into the back of a police car.

I took Maisie in my arms and hugged her tight. She was incredibly stressed and skinny. She knew I was here and she clung to me for dear life and the only other person she would let hold her was Astrid.

We took her home. She ate so much food we thought she might make herself ill and she spent her evening wrapped in Astrid's dressing gown watching TV. She clung to both of us and had a permanent frown on her face.

My phone rang. It was an unknown number.

I got up to answer it and Maisie looked at me panicking.

"I'll come back I promise." I said to Maisie.

I walked out to the kitchen and answered the phone.

"I'll get her back, Noah." Niomi replied.

"What." I replied.

"Maisie. You've got her back now but just you wait. She'll be mine before you know it."
