The following weekend Emily agreed to watch Rory so that Lorelai could go out with Andrew. "Lorelai it's almost 6:30 he will be here any minute." Emily nagged as Lorelai was applying her makeup. "I know mom almost done, geeze you're more worked up than I am." Lorelai laughed coming out of the bathroom. "I just want you to have a good time." Emily smiled. "I will mom, thank you again for watching Rory for me." Lorelai smiled and looked down at her 2 year old playing with her toys. "Mommy pretty!" Rory exclaimed looking up at her mom. "Awe thank you sweets I love you babe." Lorelai laughed and kissed her daughter on the forehead as the doorbell rang. "Hello Emily, how are you?" Andrew said as the maid let him in. "I'm wonderful, thank you Andrew Lorelai will be right in." She said pointing towards the living room where Lorelai was telling Rory she would see her in the morning. Moments later Lorelai walked into the foyer and headed out the door. They drove a short distance to a small intimate Italian restaurant. "I love Italian food." Lorelai said happily as Andrew parked. "I'm glad." He said with a smile that spread from ear to ear. They went in and were seated quickly. They ordered and started talking. "So, I'm pretty sure we've covered, kids and life dreams, why don't we get to know eachother a little better." Andrew laughed. "Sounds good, I mostly spend my time with Rory, I've been spending some time around Stars Hollow, Woodbridge, and other small towns looking at possible places to buy for an Inn, I've gotten quite close to my parents over the last couple of years raising Rory. I love food, movies, music, and reading. I hate anything outdoors, and I'm rambling why don't you tell me more about you!" Lorelai laughed as Andrew stared at her in amazement. "Wow, that was, wow you talk very fast." He smiled. "Well other than work and raising Colin I am very connected to my family, Yale graduate, I love adventure and I'm also a fan of good movies, I didn't actually realize how important family was until my wife passed and I wish I would have sooner." He finished. Just then their food arrived. They ate and had light conversation for the rest of dinner.
"Lorelai this has been a great night I would love to see you again sometime." He said as he pulled up to the Gilmore mansion. "I would like that very much Andrew, I really enjoyed the evening." She said leaning towards him as he leaned in and kissed her slowly and passionately. "Good night Lorelai." He smiled and she nodded and headed towards the back yard for the pool house. 'Oh my goodness that kiss made my head spin, I can't believe I'm falling for a guy my mom set me up with.' Lorelai thought as she drifted off to sleep.
