Ch. 22 - Unexpected Revelations

I told Shena that I'm in love with her on Monday. I also asked her to be my girlfriend. I've never had a real girlfriend nor real relationship before so I want Shena to be my first and hopefully only official girlfriend.

I love everything about her. I love her smile and the way her eyes twitches when she does. I love how she looks out for everyone around her. I love how smart she is. I love how happy she is. She's always smiling and making everyone around her smile with her. I'm just crazy about her.

She was completely speechless when I poured my heart out to her. Which is what I expected. I can't believe I'm feeling this way. Lately I feel so happy like I'm walking on air or something. I just love the way I'm feeling since I fell in love. It feels awesome.

I've been sending little love notes with white roses to Shena everyday. Just expressing to her how I feel about her. I found out from Saneke that her favourite flowers are white roses. I watch her when she's reading them and every time she does she smiles to herself. So I think she likes me now but until she doesn't answer my question I won't know for sure.

It's Jamaica Day and I'm here with my friends celebrating and having a great time. Shena and her friends are here looking really great.

Especially Shena, she looks really hot! I thought she would be simple and casual like the way she is. But goddamn, I got the shock of my life when I first saw her this morning. I don't know how I managed to control myself from not grabbing her and kissing her.

I just hope she accepts to be my girlfriend. If she declines I'll literally go crazy.

"I didn't know Mike could act. Look at him, nigga is hilarious", Jake said laughing.

'Ya he is", Marc agreed laughing.

"I'ma get something to drink bros. Soon forward", I said feeling thirsty then left.

I bought a juice at the tuck shop and started drinking it. On my way back I heard talking coming from a room nearby.

"He's not good enough for her San! He's a player and a bad boy! He'll never change! I'm not gonna sit by and let him play my best friend! She's been through enough heartbreaks! I can't see her like that again!" A girl shouted.

"That's unfair Zo! Why don't you open your eyes to the truth? People change Zo! A lot of people done worse than him and changed so why can't he? You're been stubborn and hardheaded! You say he can't change yet your own bf was just like him and he changed! Open your eyes Zo!" Another girl yelled back. Wait a minute, that sound like Saneke! And Zoya! What the hell is going on?!

"That's not the point..".

"Of course it is!"

"Baby I have to agree with Saneke. She's right. I think Carru really has changed", A guy said. Wait, that's Akeem.

So Zoya, Saneke and Akeem are arguing about me. This is fucked up!

Yo, did Akeem just defended me? But we hate each other. We don't even talk.

"Are you kidding me right now? You're defending him after what he did to you?" Zoya asked harshly.

"That's not the point right now. The point is the nigga has changed and he has fallen in love with Shena. I've witnessed for myself that he has changed. Saneke is right. Look, babe, I was like him once remember. I was a player and a troublemaker. I used to do bad things to people until I met you. You made me change. So it's the same thing with him. Shena made him change. It's like history repeating itself, only with different people. Do you think I'd let him go near Shena if he didn't change? Shena's your best friend right, so I care about her too", Akeem said calmly.

Wow. I can't believe he defended me like that and he hates me. Thanks man! I think it's time I make my presence known so I went inside and they all looked at me.

"Carru. Uh..what are you doing here?" Saneke asked shakily.

"I heard everything", I said simply and they all looked at me shocked.

"Look Zoya, I know you don't like me because of what happened with Akeem and I, but please don't judge me because of that. I love Shena, I mean I really love her. I'd never do anything to hurt her because if I did I'd be hurting myself too. I never knew what love is until I met her so please don't take that away from me", I said sincerely looking at Zoya.

"Aww that's so sweet", Saneke cooed.

"Now do you believe him?" She demanded Zoya.

"I can see it in your eyes that you really love her. I guess I was judging you wrong", Zoya said calmly.

"Finally! I've got my sensible best friend back", Saneke said hugging Zoya and Zoya laughed.

"Thank you for believing me. And thanks Akeem for defending me", I said looking at them.

"No problem. Just telling the truth as I see it", Akeem said simply.

"One more thing, if even by mistake you dare to hurt my best friend. I will personally make you wish you never set eyes on her", Zoya threatened looking me straight in the eyes and Akeem laughed.

"Let's go San", She said and they left.

Wow. I felt scared there for a minute. Somebody please remind me to never mess with that girl.

Now that there's nothing standing between Shena and I, all that's left is for her to say yes.
