The next day, Jasiri came to the lair a with the cubs.
"Be careful." She told them.
"Yes Jasiri." Says Wemu.
"Huwezi!" Cheers Tunu.
He runs over to Fuli and she ruffles his little head.
"Hey, that's my line." She says.
Tunu giggles.
"Alright then, let's go."
The guard leads the Cubs to where they usually train.
"Let's start with sneaking and we'll go easy." Says Fuli.
She smirks at Kion who returns it.
"Hey Bunga, there's a log FULL of bugs not far from here. They're all yours if you want them." He says.
"Thanks Kion." Replies Bunga as he sprints off to find the bugs.
When he was out of sight, Fuli shows them how to sneak up on Bunga.
"Let's go. Till the Pridelands end!" Says Wema.
"Lion guard defend. Huwezi!" Replies Tunu.
The guard watches the Cubs sneak up on Bunga.
"Hakuna Matata. It means no worries. Hakuna Matata." Sings Bunga.
"Let's sneak up from behind." Says Tunu.
Wemu nods and they creep up on Bunga.
"Ra!"
"Ahh!"
The Cubs scare Bunga half to death.
"Nice one guys. Wow." He says gasping for breath.
The rest of the guard walk up to them while laughing.
"How did we do?" Asks Wemu.
"That was excellent." Replies Beshte.
"That was so funny!" Laughs Ono.
"Was not!" Snaps Bunga.
"Let's get back to training." Says Kion.
They train for about an hour, until the Cubs get tired.
"Looks like the little ones are getting sleepy." Says Bunga.
"I'll take them back to the lair for a nap. Come on you two." Says Fuli.
The Cubs yawn and Bunga, Beshte and Ono couldn't help but find it cute. The Cubs follow Fuli back to the lair.
"But Fuli, we're not (yawn) tired." Yawns Tunu.
"Won't Jasiri be back any minute? Shouldn't we (yawn) stay awake?" Agrees Wemu.
"No, little ones. You need to rest sometimes. I learnt that the hard way." Replies Fuli.
She lays down and the Cubs lie down beside her. Fuli tells them about how she used up all her energy and how Mzingo and his vultures tries to attack her as the Cubs drift off to sleep. Fuli smiles at the sleeping Cubs and licks their foreheads.
"Goodnight, little warriors." Fuli whispers as she cuddles up beside them.
Outside the lair, Kion watched Fuli put the Cubs to bed and could help but think how cute it was and what a great mother Fuli would be in the future. He smiles at the sleeping animals and silently walks away.
Not long later, Jasiri came to the Pridelands to pick up the Cubs. She sees Kion walking past and decides to surprise him.
"RA!" She yells.
"Hey Jasiri." Greets Kion not getting scared at all.
"Aww. Didn't I scare you a little bit?"
"Nope. Fuli's been helping me become a better hunter."
"That's nice. Did the Cubs have a good time? Where are the little trouble makers?"
"They're in the lair with Fuli having a nap."
"That's sweet. May I see them?"
"Sure. Let's go."
Kion leads Jasiri to the the lair. They tiptoe inside and see Fuli curled up with the Cubs.
"They're so cute." Whispers Jasiri.
"I think Fuli has a soft spot for Cubs." Replies Kion.
They leave the lair and head outside. While they wait for Fuli and the cubs to wake up, they play a game of tag. Kion pins Jasiri and she laughs. Jasiri leans up and licks Kion's nose. Kion's eyes widen and he couldn't help but feel it was wrong. At the entrance of the lair, Fuli was watching every second of it. She woke to the sound of laughing and saw them playing. Fuli growls and unsheathes her claws when Jasiri licks Kion. Kion and Jasiri stand back up just in time to see the cubs run towards them.
"Jasiri!" They cheer when they see her.
"Hey there you little trouble makers. Have a good time?" Asks Jasiri.
"Fuli's the best!" Says Tunu.
"She taught us how to sneak up on Bunga." Continues Wemu.
Fuli smiles at the cubs as she stands by the entrance.
"Time to go. Say bye to Kion and Fuli." Says Jasiri.
"Bye Kion. Bye Fuli."
The cubs run up to Fuli and nuzzle her legs.
"Bye Wemu and Tunu." Smiles Fuli as she ruffles their little heads.
The cubs giggle and follow Jasiri to the Outlands. Kion hopes that Fuli didn't see what Jasiri did. He knew she would be furious and didn't want to see that side of her. Fuli could feel the anger bubble inside of her. She wasn't sure if she ever wanted to trust Kion again.
"The Cubs really seem to like you." Says Kion.
"I guess." Replies Fuli.
Kion licks her cheek and smiles. Fuli returns the smile and feels her heart beat in her chest. She wasn't sure if she wanted to trust Kion but the feelings for him were still there.
