Yes, I know you've probably heard this advice before from about a hundred different school teachers, but it's true!
A lot of people shrug this tip off, but reading a variety of other books helps you increase your knowledge of words, grammar, punctuation, layouts, settings, how to write entertaining characters, character development, world building, etc.
So by reading books in your own time, you will gain more knowledge and tips about how to improve your own personal writing!
