so cbx did a v-live a week or so ago, and chen, baek and minseok started putting lipstick
so this video kinda sums up what had happened. if you can't watch it, he basically puts on a bunch of lipstick around his mouth that accentuates his lip size and makes it look like huge lips (which he did not intend to make fun of black people at all bc hes not stupid) but he fucked up by claiming he looked like kunta kinte (also michol, but the kunta kinte one was much more offensive for some)

a slave in a fictional tv show called roots, which was very popular. when i fucking watched it you don't understand how much i fucking cried. so kunta kinte was based on a real life slave account, so chen denoting this whilst coloring his lips was insensitive.
let me clear some things up before any exo antis start hating on chen.
• chen isn't racist, just ignorant. in korea, although its fucking stupid, they use the term kunta kinte quite frequently. they use it to refer to someone with 'full lips' — it's backwards i know. so don't expect chen to somehow be more advanced than korean society, because remember he grew up with these kinds of terms.
• do not use this as a way of pushing your agenda forward. some exo antis used this to hate on exo as a whole, which is childish and immature and proves you're not really giving a fuck about the black people actually affected by this but you only really fucking care about hating on exo. which is embarrassing and you need to delete yourself.
BUT
i am in no way defending or justifying what jongdae said because it was wrong nonetheless. although this is said in korean culture, chen still did offend people and should apologize.
