Grace's Point of View:

I ran towards them with tears in my eyes.

I was scared to cross the border, but I did it.

They looked at me with astonished faces.

"Katherine?!" I hugged her.

"Oh my gosh! Grace?!" She squealed, hugging me back.

"I missed you so much!" I said, wiping my tears.

"Me too," she said, her eyes were brimming with tears.

"My dear Gracie, I thought I'd never be able to see you again," Gratala gave me a sad smile.

I pulled her in an embrace.

"I was so scared, Grandma."

"I am so glad we found you," Emilia hugged me, "it's been so long since I saw you the last time, Grace."

"I am glad too."

We smiled widely at each other.

"Long time no see," Casper grinned.

"I know! I missed you too."

Wow, there's a lot of hugging today. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I felt so happy. They are back.

Is this a dream? I looked towards the cloudy sky with a smile.

My smile wiped when I realized their clothes weren't in a good condition. It looked like they had a rough time.

"Oh goodness, tell me what happened. Why are your clothes so worn out and oh my goodness! Emilia is that a bite mark?"

I frowned. Where were they from one month? Did some animal attack them? How did they escape from Serup?

My mind was clouded with questions.

A cool breeze was blowing, and leaves were falling.

I saw a deer walking away, it started glowing. Such a beautiful deer. Everyone looked towards it.

In a few seconds, it vanished.

My jaw dropped. How did that happen? Was that really a deer?

"Oh, no. Emmamarie vanished, I knew she was a special deer," Katherine said.

"Emmamarie?" Was she talking about the Emmamarie I know?

"Yeah, I named her that. That name sounded very natural on that deer. She came out of nowhere one day and helped us so much."

"I am alive because of her," Emilia looked in my eyes.

Why am I feeling that it's the Emmamarie I know but in a deer's form?

I really need to know what happened.

---

I brought all of them to Brianna's house. Brianna gave them clothes, and even cooked food for them. My heart broke when I found they didn't have much food to eat when they were in the woods.

Valia was so happy to see them.

I am glad no one talked about Andrew. It would have just made me sad. I try my best not to think about him nowadays.

We were sitting here in Brianna's living room, having coffee.

Casper was standing near the window, looking towards the mountains in a deep thought.

"Casper and I ran out of Serup somehow and headed towards the woods. We both couldn't find Emilia, she had gone to the library. I had never run so much in my life. The Slaves of Darkness were killing everyone who didn't submit to Lord Darkness' rule," Katherine sipped her coffee.
