Chapter 14

"Good Morning"

The Nomad Hotel:

Room 415:

7:00am

Sadie began to slowly stir from her sleep as she slowly began to remember how the party had ended last night.

Jan 12th, 2018

11:45pm:

"What movie do you guys want to throw on?" Gaten yawned out being the last to have gotten changed into pajamas knowing full well he was going to pass out on the pull-out couch watching it.

By this point Jack, Ayla, and Malcolm all excused themselves, so they could get some sleep, exhaustion from the concert seeping into their bodies as they headed off to the bedroom. Nick and Quincy's friends had all headed out and they were setting up the air mattress so that they could watch the movie with everyone else in the living room. Caleb and Gaten had pulled out the couch to turn it into a bed so that they both could fit on it easily which left Finn and Sadie on the opposite couch sitting next to each other with a couple pillows and blankets there if they needed them.

Quincy ran out to the kitchenette to make some popcorn for everyone as they decided which movie to watch. As he came back handing out a bowl to Gaten and Caleb, one to Finn and Sadie, then bringing the last back to the mattress for him and Nick, Finn finally offered a suggestion, "How about we watch Captain America?"

"Yeah that sounds like a good one" Sadie said enthusiastically after all she was Captain America for Halloween this last year.

Everyone else yawned in agreement as Gaten got up to put the movie on. Sadie looked to her right at Finn who looked like he was about to pass out at any second. He had his pillow put up against the arm of the couch and he was leaning back into it while keeping his feet on the floor putting himself at an awkward angle that made Sadie smile.

"Finn why don't you just get comfortable on the couch you look so awkward like that?" Sadie asked as Finn opened his eyes wide enough to notice how silly he looked. He chuckled slightly embarrassed as he kicked his shoes off and brought his legs up behind her back on the couch while she inched a little bit closer to him and leaned back feeling the back of the couch and his legs on the small of her back. She wanted to make herself comfortable, but she didn't know if Finn would be ok with that while people were awake, or at all.

Gaten laid down on the pull out next to Caleb as the opening credits started for the movie. Shortly after Sadie looked back over at Finn to notice that he was fast asleep laying on his side with one arm under his pillow holding it in place while his other hand rested around his stomach.

She looked back over at the pull out to notice Caleb was also knocked out while Gaten's eyes were working as hard as possible to stay somewhat open as he continued to focus all of what was left of his attention on the movie.

Sadie let out a silent yawn as she stretched her arms out wide realizing how tired she was getting so she decided it was time to get ready for bed. She slowly stood up and walked around the living room picking up her and Finn's bowl of popcorn and bringing it out to the kitchen so that it was out of the way.

As Sadie made her way back over to the couch she saw that Gaten's eyes had finally given up against their battle with sleep as a soft snore escaped his lips. She held a hand to her mouth as she lightly chuckled as she finally reached the couch where Finn was sleeping.

Sadie couldn't help the soft smile that slowly made its way onto her face as she looked down taking in the full sight of Finn sleeping, The sharpness of his cheekbones, the fullness in his lips. Wow he really is beautiful.

Instinct overtook her normal rational thinking as she found herself laying down next to him on the couch. She could feel his light breaths escape from his mouth tickling her neck with each breath. She turned herself around so that her back was facing him and gently pulled his arm away from his leg and wrapped it around her waist.

She let out a small sigh of pure happiness as she backed up into him melting into his embrace as she could feel his arm softly tighten around her. Fatigue from the concert, and the warmth from his embrace quickly causing her eyelids to dip as her last thoughts were of the curly haired boy whose arms she was wrapped up in as sleep took her.

Back to the present:

Sadie was jogged from her memory as she felt the warmth of a familiar arm tighten around her midsection sending butterflies up into her chest. When she had went to bed the night before she hadn't thought about the outcome of what might happen the following morning. She could feel her heartbeat quicken as her eyes shot open with one thought on her mind at the moment. Was he awake?

Sadie decided that the longer she waited to find out the worse her butterflies and her rapidly beating heart were going to get, so with all the courage that she could muster she slowly turned herself around to bring her face to face with the skinny curly haired boy that had stolen her heart. At that moment she realized he was still very much asleep as she put her head back down on the pillow they shared, a soft smile etching itself slowly on to her face.

She laid there admiring his features for a minute as she bravely brought her hand up and slowly traced a line down the side of his face following his jawline. As she did this she couldn't help but sigh with bliss at the situation she found herself in.

She didn't have much time to think though as her fingers reached where his jawline connected with his neck she saw his eyelids open to reveal a pair of soft chocolate brown eyes staring back at her.

She froze as her eyes widened in shock as she was not sure what she should do; She felt like a kid who had just got caught with their hand in a cookie jar. Before she had the chance to take her hand away from his face she was surprised to feel the hand that he had wrapped around her waist was slowly rising to cup the side of her cheek as he continued to stare at her.

Finn knew this was his best chance; he could feel his heart going ballistic as he brought his hand up to cup her face, he heard Sadie's breath catch in her throat when his hand made contact and he couldn't help but give her a small smile which she returned happily.

The gravity in the room causing them to realize where they were, Finn leaned in slowly as Sadie did the same and, in that moment, when Finn joined his lips to hers, they had known happiness. In that simple, intricate, yet innocent kiss, they were able to convey all their pent-up feelings over the last year and hoped that the other had understood.

And just as quickly as their lips had touched; they had parted leaving a sort of cold emptiness in its wake as they each opened their eyes to look at each other. As they both continued to enjoy the sight of the other they had noticed that their faces had deepened quite a bit in color as they gave each other small sheepish smiles.

Finn decided he would be the first to speak as he somehow mustered up the courage to mumble quietly, "This is going to change everything Sades".

As Sadie thought about what he had said she nodded as he smile got a little bit wider as she continued to hold his gaze with her own.

"Yes Finn, it will. Nothing will ever be the same."

(Sorry if this feels like a short chapter, Since I made you all wait for so long for a decent Fadie moment I figured I'd give it its own chapter, and because the next chapter will probably be fairly long without including this scene in it. Also, before I get too much further into this story, I am not, in anyway, shape, or form, sexualizing these kids. I plan to keep anything that happens to them age appropriate, so which means as they get older and more serious they won't be sharing little pecks on the cheek like 12-year olds.
