Chapter 20

The door went open. It was their manager unnie. Irene called her so she can send the kids back to their dorm since she doesn't want them to take a cab again.

Manager: How are you guys?

She then saw Wendy on the bed, still unconscious. Joy and Yeri sleeping on the couch, Irene arranging something on the bed side table and Seulgi sitting on a chair beside Wendy, holding her hand

Irene and Seulgi both looked at her

Irene: Ohh unnie, you're here
Manager: Ne. How is she?

"Still unconscious" Seulgi answered with a sad voice and a pout

Manager: You both look so tired, do you want to go home and rest for a while? I'll stay the night. I'll look after her
Irene: No need unnie. I'll stay. Seulgi, how about you? You should rest
Seulgi: Nope. I'll also stay unnie
Manager: Are you sure?
Irene: Yes. We're going to be fine. Just drop the kids at the dorm please unnie
Manager: Ohh. Arasso
Seulgi: Kumawoyo

Then they woke Joy and Yeri up. The two went beside the unconscious Wendy and hugged her.

Joy: Unnie, when we come back tomorrow, make sure you're already awake okay? I'm going to bring your favorite dried persimmons

The 5 of them, including their manager, smiled. Then Joy and Yeri hugged Irene and Seulgi and everyone said their goodbyes

Irene and Seulgi were left alone in the room. They sat on the couch looking so tired

Seulgi: You should have went home with them unnie. I'll be fine
Irene: Ani. I won't leave Wendy. I'll wait here until she wakes up

The both of them went silent for awhile, deep in their thoughts. Then suddenly Seulgi spoke

Seulgi: This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't because of me

Seulgi felt a tear slipped from her eyes. She immediately wiped it but tears started to continuously fall

Seulgi continued "I should have been the one who got hit by that car! I should be the one lying there not Wendy!" Seulgi couldn't hold it anymore she cried so loud like a kid "My poor Seungwan. Why did she even do that? Why did she save me?" Tears just kept falling

Irene then put her hand on Seulgi's lap and said "Shh~ don't say that. Don't blame yourself"

Seulgi: I feel guilty unnie. I did this to her
Irene: No. I should be the one to blame. If I hadn't confessed my love for her, this wouldn't have happened

Then Seulgi suddenly remembered that kiss. The picture of Wendy and Irene kissing each other. That moment that broke her heart. That moment that started it all.

But she didn't say anything. She was just quiet. She managed to shrug it off and focus her mind on Wendy. Just Wendy, not herself nor Irene.

"I shouldn't be thinking about this. I shouldn't be thinking about my own feelings when Wendy was just lying there unconscious not knowing when will she be able to wake up" Seulgi thought to herself while shaking her head

Irene saw this and asked "Wae? Seulgi, stop crying~" Irene was about to wipe Seulgi's tears but she grabbed her hand and stopped her "Aniyo unnie. Kwaenchana" then she let go of Irene's hand. She then stood up, wiped her tears, and sat on a chair beside Wendy. She then held Wendy's hand, put it against her cheek and whispered "Please wake up. I miss you already"

Seulgi didn't notice that she fell asleep still holding her hand, resting her head on Wendy's bed.
