"Tony, is she alright?" I gasped, knowing exactly who was calling at 3:30 in the morning. "Tony where's Selyne?"
"She's...she's fine, slumming it with Spider-Man." He retorted.

Butterflies roared in my stomach when his voice hit my ear drums. His voice was deeper, but he had the same attitude. It had been so long since I heard his voice, but it seemed like no time had passed at all by the gut reaction in my stomach and chest.
The line was quiet for a moment and I could hear his heavy breathing, almost as if he was having a hard time taking a deep breath.

"(Y/n), how could...please tell me this birth certificate is a fake?" He contended, taking a quick breath. "Then to let her just show up, unannounced. She just hacked into my tower... How could you keep this from me!?" His words were jumbled, but my heart stuttered in my chest.
"If you're worried about a scandal or your private life, then send my daughter home," I snapped, and walked outside onto the deck of my home. "And I didn't let her do anything, she left..."
"That's not..! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU! I'VE HAD A DAUGHTER FOR ALMOST HALF MY GODDAM LIFE AND DIDN'T EVEN KNOW SHE EXISTED!!!" He shouted.
"I didn't want her to get hurt!" I replied, and pulled the phone from my ear. Tears spilled over my cheeks, but I wasn't going to let Tony blame me for protecting my daughter.
"What the hell does that mean!?" I heard his shout.
"You know what the fuck it means, don't act like a complete dumbshit. If you don't want MY daughter then send her home." I snapped, "And maybe if your father and Stane were still alive, they could answer some of your questions as to why you didn't know you had a daughter..." I finished and hung up, almost instantly regretting my words.
I looked out over the ocean, and watched the fog roll in. Worry, and consternation were just a few of the emotions I was feeling, on top of the worry and stress for my daughter.

She was gone. On her quest to find and know her father.
Tears splashed down and I shook my head against the wind. Tony would never understand why I did what I did, or had too.
Of course he wouldn't, cause everything was always about him, and obviously that hadn't changed, even after sixteen years.
In the end it didn't really matter what his dad or Stane did, because I had a choice, just like he did, and his choice wasn't me, and my choice was Selyne and school.
I feared for my daughter, not only because she was across the country, and with her father, but mostly because in the end, I feared Tony, was going to hurt her, just like he hurt me. It didn't matter how much hope I had he wouldn't do just that, but it was inevitable.
Tony was a taker, never a giver... but I prayed Selyne was stronger than I was....
I pulled her number up and brushed some tears off my face before I began to text her.

'My little moon, you shine in times of darkness, and I pray she guides you during your time with your father, but I'll be here. I'm always here for you, and I'm fucken pissed.'

Tony sighed when she hung up, too riddled with anger and denial to call her back.

'What the hell did she mean by what she said. How....'

Then he remembered her face as she clung to him when he got ready to leave her for the last time. She'd been distracted all night, and at the time, he assumed it was because she knew he was leaving. Now, he knew that wasn't true, because after doing the quick math in his head, she was already a month or two along when he left.
But she still gave him so much, during their time together. She never asked for anything more, because she knew exactly who he was back then.
He loved women, almost as much as he loved his work and alcohol, but he loved her too. He just didn't know what to do with that information at the time. They were kids, and he was Tony Stark, Howard Stark's son. He was one of the most popular students at MIT, always out in the lab, or out at a sorority/fraternity party, and for over a year she was there, encouraging him to do whatever he wanted to do, instead of building weapons like his father.
