BANG BANG BANG

I blinked at the rapid sound that was coming from the entrance door downstairs, and I looked at Joshua. He was sitting on his bed, while I was standing a few feet from him. He gave me a look of curiosity, but had fear in his eyes.

"It seems that your mother is home." I say, walking towards the door. I wanted to go downstairs and greet Clara, who was now home from her trip.

"No..." Joshua whispers. I stopped and turned around to look at him. "No? Is something the matter?" I asked. He brings his knees to his chest, and wraps his arm around them. He shook his head, and I could've sworn I saw him tremble a bit.

"Momma doesn't bang on the door like that. She just comes in and calls out that she's home." Joshua explains, staring at the window that was next to his bed. "Then who is it?" I asked, titling my head. "I-I..." He stutters, rocking back and forth.

Why is he so scared?

BANG BANG BANG

I turned back around and opened the door. "W-Wait! Don't go answer it!" He calls out from behind me. I turned my head around and saw him getting off the bed. "Why not?" I asked.

"I...Just don't, please?" He pleaded, tears pricking the corner of his light brown eyes. I nodded and closed the door, stepping away from it slowly.

"Thank you..." He says, smiling weakly at me.

CRASH

I watched Joshua jump in fright at the sudden noise. "JOSHUA? WHERE ARE YOU?" A loud voice yells out from downstairs. "Oh no...this can't be happening." I heard Joshua mummer. "Who's that?" I asked, turning my attention to the door once more. I prepared myself if something comes through, that's a threat.

"It's him." He says, looking at me with fear in his eyes. He was crying now, and I got that strange feeling again when I looked at him.

I heard loud footsteps coming up the stairs, and I went to Joshua. "Is he a threat?" I asked. I wanted to make sure that if he's a threat, then I can fight against him for self-defense for trying to hurt one of my owners.

"Yeah, he's a threat. Momma tells me to hide when he comes, and he usually leaves when he thinks no one is home. But, for some reason he's more aggressive than usual. He actually broke in, and came inside the house." Joshua says, trembling violently.

The footsteps was now coming down the hall, and I held Joshua to me tightly. He had his head buried on my stomach, which muffled his sobs.

"Joshua? I know you're in there! Come out here, daddy won't hurt you!" The voice calls out, this time at the other side of the door.

Daddy?

I narrowed my eyes at the door, and started to back away slowly, bringing Joshua with me. I looked down and saw that Joshua was peeking at the door, a horrified expression on his face.

"I'm going to count to three! If you don't come out by the time I count to three, then I'm coming in myself!" He calls out, a threatening tone in his voice.

Joshua whimpered, and I looked around for something to help us. I remembered the window that was beside the bed, and I patted Joshua's head to get his attention.

He looked up at me, tears going down his cheeks and he tightened his grip on my android suit. "We need to go through that window. We need to find your mother, and tell her what's happening." I say, lowly.
