Naruto POV

"Why won't you let me kill him ?", asked Temari her father with tears in her eyes. "Because, I don't want to lose another one of my children.", the Kazekage said annoyed, since his daughter was asking him the same thing since almost two hours. "But we have to get revenge on this guy!", snapped Temari, while stomping on the ground like a five year old. "But I couldn't handle losing another one of you!", Rasa snapped back. "Don't think that, just because I'm an adult, this whole thing isn't affecting me. I want revenge just as much as you do, but you have to understand that I won't put the life of you or Gaara on the line just to kill on single Shinobi.", he continued. Temari slowly nodded with tears in her eyes, turned and slowly left the room.

For the first time since Temari and I had entered the room, the Kazekage seemed to realise that I was there. He looked at me awkwardly, before looking at his papers. "Can you take care of her for me, she needs someone to comfort her. What I had called you here for, has time.", he asked, while taking a few papers from one pile and putting them on another one. I nodded simply and hurried out of the door, hoping to catch up to the blonde girl before she got out of the building. But, as I reached the streets, I couldn't see her, so I decided to look for her at the places which she liked the most.

First I looked at the greenhouse, in which Temari often went to take care of some plants she had managed to grow. After having no success there I went to a place on top of the wall where I knew that Temari often went to clear her head. But I couldn't seem to find her. Wherever I looked, she was nowhere to be seen. After an hour of looking for the blonde girl, I decided on going home to look if she was there.

When I got to the house, I saw that there was a small backpack next to the couch. Then I heard shuffling coming from Temari's room, so I went there to look if I could do anything for her. She had her door wide open, so when I came close, I could see, that she was sealing clothes into a scroll. I saw that she was crying silently while sealing away another set of clothes, a set of Shuriken and most importantly her battle fan, which she started using a while ago, as it makes it easier to control large amounts of wind-chakra. That was when I realized what she was doing. "Stop that, Temari, you know that you wouldn't accomplish anything if you were to go after that Anbu by yourself.", I said, startling the blonde girl and effectively interrupting her. "Don't you want to kill that bastard?!", Temari exploded. "He killed my brother! He just killed him, without any reason. Don't you understand? He will never come back. He is gone and his murderer is still alive.", her screaming turned slowly into mumbling and then silent sobbing. I embraced her and lightly petted her back. "You don't have to go through this alone, Temari. I'll be there for you, and I'm sure that Gaara would be here for you too.", I whispered. As soon as Rasa had heard from the death of his eldest son, he had sent Gaara on an emergency mission, from which he wouldn't return for at least two weeks. Temari just cried into my shoulder, while I was trying to calm her down.

"So, are you going to tell Rasa? Or are you going to let me go?", asked Temari after she had calmed down. "Well, I'm not going to let you go and hunt that Anbu.", I said, letting go of her. "Alright, I'll unpack my stuff.", she said, and went to get her backpack from downstairs. I got the scrolls, which, lay on the floor and went after Temari. "At least, I won't let you go without backup.", I said smiling, while tossing her the scrolls. She went wide-eyed and just stared at me, before realising what I just had said. "What do you mean? Are you going to accompany me?", she asked, slightly confused, while putting the scrolls away. "Yeah, just let me get my stuff, then we can go, give me like five minutes.", I said, jumping up the stairs and getting into my room.

Temari was already waiting for me outside, when I finished packing. She only had her small backpack with her, while I had stored all of my storage scrolls in one slightly bigger scroll, which I had put on my belt. We went off to the gates, where we were stopped by the guards. "Where are you two going?", asked one of them. "We are going on vacation.", I answered, easily lying to the warden, who I recalled to be relatively close to the Kazekage. "Does Rasa know about this? I mean, after all, he doesn't want Temari to go after the absconder.", he continued to ask. "Well, Temari's father gave us a week off because of the recent events, so we decided to go on vacation to clear our heads.", I answered. "Fair enough, stay safe.", the warden said, before letting us pass through the gate into the desert.

"So, I take it, you planned this ahead, didn't you?", said Temari, while taking off her backpack and getting a scroll out. " Well, I had a feeling that you wanted to go, but I wasn't sure. The only thing I knew, is, that I wanted to get that bastard who helped to kill Kankuro.", I replied while watching her unseal a bottle of water from the scroll. I looked up at the stars on the clear desert sky. "Why didn't you tell me? I mean, we could have planned this much better, if we knew we'd be together.", Temari said, getting her sleeping bag out. "Because your father would have been suspicious, if you didn't behave the way he expected you to.", I explained. "Well, it worked out.", Temari said, while getting into her sleeping bag.
