Chapter 50

Marami pa akong gustong itanong sa matanda. Mas nauna ko pa siyang nakita nang mga panahong wala pa akong naalala. He even asked me about the meaning of the hummingbird.

My eyes were full of questions. Bakit siya nandito? Papaano niya nalaman na kailangan ko ng mga alahas? Bakit kasama niya ang triplets?

But he didn't allow me to ask, instead he put his forefinger in front of his lips asking me to keep everything in secret.

"Go on hija, have a safe trip. We'll be waiting in the Philippines." Paatras akong humahakbang na may mga tanong sa aking mga mata.

At bago pa ako tuluyang tumalikod ay narinig kong muli ang boses ng triplets.

"Bye Aunt Lina!" sabay-sabay kumaway sa akin ang triplets. Ngumiti ako sa kanila bago ako nagmadaling lumabas ng kwarto.

Nagmamadali na akong bumaba sa hagdan nang halos mapatalon ako sa narinig ko.

"I told you, there are no secrets with the great Don Garpidio Ferell." Lumingon ako kay Savannah.

"You told him?" umiling siya sa akin.

"Why would I tell him? He had his own ways."

"Don Ferell is really something, full of mysteries. Just like you."

"Ofcourse, he's my adoptive father afterall." Simpleng sagot nito sa akin.

"Yes, I'll go now Savannah."

Hindi na siya sumagot sa akin hanggang sa makalabas na ako. Buong akala ko ay huli na si Savannah pero may panibagong boses na namang sumalubong sa akin.

It's Armando.

"Sorry for not telling you the whole information. Yes, he's Cap Theo's grandfather." Bahagya kong muling sinulyapan ang lumang kastilyo.

"Did you check his identity? All I thought, he was just a simple businessman inside the Philippines but it turns out that he even owned properties from different countries."

Kaya pala, importante ang mana sa magpipinsang Ferell.

"His whole identity is still untraceable, Hummingbird."

"Untraceable?" hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko kay Armando.

"Yes, I tried a lot of times. I even used the Sous L'eau power to know something deep, but he's more than powerful. There is something blocking my way. I suggest, you ask your own father about him."

"My father?" tumago si Armando. "But what about Tristan, do you think he has an idea about his own grandfather?"

Muling umiling sa akin si Armando.

"Si Savannah lang ang nakakaalam. I'm sure of that."

Hindi na ako muling nagtanong kay Armando at nagpatuloy na kaming maglakad pabalik ng sasakyan.

"You know Miss Lina, I tried to retrieve my mother's jewels by myself. Hindi pa ako kasali sa Sous L'eau. And my first targets were those jewels from Don. Ferell."

Nahinto ako sa paglalakad at humarap kay Armando. Bakit ngayon niya lamang sinasabi sa akin ang mga bagay na ito?

"Kailan mo balak sabihin sa akin ang mga nalalaman mo, Armando?"
